Open beta, increased or added Film Grain effect?

I've played the closed beta and i just started up the Open beta and the first thing i notice is a lot of film grain. If its one thing i hate is a film grain filter in video games to make it more ''realistic''. I must have noticed it if it was this apparent in the closed beta. So i'm not sure if they added the film grain filter or increased it to where its annoyingly visible. Especially in foggy weather conditions. Also objects/cars/forest and especially the sky are grainy

Honestly, the first thing I noticed is the game looks a lot more crisp and cleaner than it did in the closed beta. Did you make sure you set your gamma bar correctly when the game started up? In the closed beta I had it lower than I should have had and things DID have a slight grainy look.

I'm going to check into that when i'm home. Even though i didn't touch it and i didn't touch it in the closed beta either. I'm going to adjust my TV settings a little to see if i can cover it up a little bit.

Sorry, I meant they have their own gamma correcter in-game (just so you don't have to mess with your TV settings). The default value was 50 and I actually had to turn it all the way up to 75 for the image to be barely visible. I've never had to adjust it that much in a game before.

No i got what you were saying. I'm going to play around with the gamma setting ingame and see if it makes any difference. But the time between the closed and open beta i used other settings for my 4k tv so maybe the new settings make the grain filter stand out more. So it could be that the grain filter was already there in the closed beta but maybe i didn't notice it because of the tv calibration i had then.

Have you tried the scaling under the video setting? I not super savy with the terms your using, but in the closed beta i noticed the picture looks so wierd until i found scaling i keep mine around 1.5 and makes things look so much smoother and crisp, based on your description it sounded like you ran into the same issue i had
