4 v 4 is potentially ruined by gear and feats.

Let me first start of by saying I don't like to moan. I try not to get salty in games and things but the balance in the 4v4 modes in this game are completely out of whack.

First of all feats. This seems pretty obvious to me but in a game mode like elimination where you have 1 life and no respawns, there is no place for one shot kills that require no skill to set up. In fact, there is no place for damaging feats of ANY kind. for example at the beginning of an elimination round you are facing an orochi. you go to cross swords with them and suddenly they pull a fully strung and nocked bow and arrow out of their backside. hopefully you are able to dodge roll, otherwise you can lose up to 90% of your hp (if you are an assassin) which is something of a disadvantage when going into a duel. then comes the kunai and that's game over. the orochi then moves on to gang up on your teammates, pausing only to simulate masturbation using the emotes.

And it's not an Orochi problem. there are a lot of feats that are just plain broken in elimination. Valkyrie can use scout and javelin to literally one shot everyone I've ever tried it on. Fire flask can reduce a mighty warrior to a walking execution heal with the click of a button. Don't even get me started on the catapult.

My point is feats as they are now, while fun in say dominion or skirmish, completely ruin elimination mode due to the cheapness and high damage possible.

While we are talking about cheapness and high damage, lets talk gear.

I played quite a few matches of dominion last night. I decided I wanted to try out Berserker for the first time since closed beta. I got matched up with teams of all purple gear. Ok....challenge accepted, I figure this will be a good test of skills, lets see what I remember.

My first encounter was against an Orochi, i went into my combo, he blocked 2 hits got hit by two lights and popped his revenge mode knocking me to the floor, then killed me in two hits. one masturbatory victory celebration later I respawned and went to fight the warden that was capping the nearest point to our spawn. one on one, we squared off, I dodged his first attack, landed a few hits and REVENGE! I'm knocked down and instantly killed once again.

This was the story of the night, I played 4 rounds back to back against different teams (And I checked, it wasn't the same guys) all of whom were seemingly popping revenge mode in one vs ones. every fight devolved into hitting one opponent then running around for 10-20 seconds until their revenge mode wore off. God forbid I take on someone who had fought someone else in the last decade. I even had a 1 vs 2 (I was the 1) where one of my ATTACKERS got revenge mode.

I'm all for gear stats having an effect on play but the current meta of "all revenge, all the time" is just boring and frustrating, and the only counter is seemingly to do the same thing and hope you get your revenge mode in time to counter theirs. I seriously hope this gets looked into because its making me want to avoid all game modes that have gear and feats involved which is 3 out of the 5 game modes.

    Changes I'd make to Elimination:

You can only be revived once and at 50% health.
    No feats.
    No powerups.

Changes I'd make in general, that would benefit and impact Elimination:

The impact of gear stats should be drastically reduced. The difference in attack for instance should be adding straight damage, not a multiplier to whatever amount you already do, which inherently benefits characters who already do a lot of damage. This amount should be around 10-15 damage fully upgraded. So if you have an attack that does 20 damage, it'll do 35, and an attack that does 40 damage does 55. Makes a difference, doesn't break the game. Right now, a warlord can go from 32 damage for a heavy, to 89 damage with full attack and revenge. That's just stupid. They can literally kill an assassin character with a single light+heavy combo, guaranteed.

The entire game is stupid when game changing feats are involved. I just want a featless game - stop the BS UBI.

    Definitely a major problem.

Either matchmaking needs to be better or gear stats should be fixed.

It is becoming impossible to try a new character in any mode other than duel as you are at such a disadvantaged. (I just finished a match against a max gear rep7 Orochi).

I understand that ubisoft is making money from people who buy steel for gear packs but it only diminishes the game and makes it pay to win on any mode with gear stats.

    Feats need balanced.

    Feats need disabled in elimination

Gear needs a huge nerf especially in revenge generation

Revenge in general needs a nerf

How the game got released like this I don't know. If I worked for Ubisoft I would be fu(king embarrassed though.

A girls JV volleyball team would have done a better job at balancing feats and gear than Ubisoft did. EMBARRASSING!!

I absolutely agree with this. My friend and I were just talking about how frustrating the game became after reputation 1. Gear and feats really take away from
what made the game shine in the BETA as now fights have been reduced to everyone trying to be the first to activate their revenge and two shot one another.

I've had reservations on the whole Orochi being OP but that became solidfied for me when an orochi took me to one health bar after throwing a kunai and then
pulling out this ridiculous longbow that comes out of nowhere. Two ranged attacks in two different feat slots on the fastest and currently deadliest class in the game?!
