The Orochi is a solid character, though far from the best (at least if you're talking duels). I think another reason you see so many, especially in team modes is that the Orochi has an insane kit of feats for getting kills. Two Kunai, a longbow, and a nail bomb give you tons of ways to take out multiple enemies with style.
Well with Orochi, like somebody else said before, you don't need to worry about the guard system. All you have to learn is how to do two different attacks dealing with dodge. I personally use him all the time as a main. The only downfall is that he becomes somewhat predictable if you don't know how to switch up your dodge/attack combos. Also he's really fast.
One of his best moves is a Dodge then slash back into them. If you connect it basically acts as a guard break bc you have time to literally hit them with anything. (Including a guard break or throw) so basically if you're near an ledge with an Orochi attacking you, be especially mindful of this attack. But the good thing is, I haven't seen a lot of people use this attack besides me.
Speaking of feats, if you use Orochi like I do, he has a feat that gives you extra damage after a Dodge. I've hit people with a heavy after a Dodge and it takes half their hp away.Originally Posted by Edthebed Go to original post
If there are 8 players in a game, and 12 to choose from, it's not that unlikely that you meet one every game.Originally Posted by RayGDC Go to original post
I don't know what's your problem is people. It's a perfectly balanced character. (yes that's a link)
agreed. the fact he wields a katana and does iaido-esque techniques is why I main Orochi.Originally Posted by Seifer_Firehart Go to original post
also his style is very much my personal style of fighting so I find his kit intuitive.
