Lawbringer has health, he has reach, he has SPAMMABLE vortex disables and stamina reducers.

I can pick up a LB RIGHT NOW and win matches and I hardly play him.
Try playing ANY MATCH as a Raider past rep 2... its IMPOSSIBLE to get things done.
I disagree. None of the vortexes he can spam guarantees damage except long arm, which only catches afk players and gives only a free light attack. His stamina is horrible, his health is not much higher than a warden, and his damage is terrible. They both suck against decent players, but at least the raider gets rewarded for a hit.

LB is not weak "in vacuum", but compared to others, considered, "top" characters he has flaws - for example, he relies too much on gimmicks (nothing is guaranteed and it depends on the awareness of the opponent if it is going to work or not), he doesn't have a secured damage outside of long arm into light, long arm not being that great move at first place. LB does less damage overally and has slow/easy to dodge moves and slow switch stance too. He is decent against from low to mid level players, but not that great against good players, imo.

They guy who starts the thread seems to know what the community thinks so why post anyway. God what a ******. Lawbringer deosn't seem op and after that vak buff honestly, don't buff him. I rather have him less strong than op. And inr eagrd of a not so great moveset Kensei comes to mind, who only has a bit m,indgame and no real GB-potential. So to make a statement, don't buff their are other broken things which are far worse.

Lawbringer is well balanced. His moves are great and fun, but they can be avoided. The problem is that some other characters have some stupid safe moves, that make the Lawbringer look silly. Lawbringer and raider are great no BS characters.

The developers should make a balance pass and bring the law down on all the other characters.

But yes raider is by far the weakness character. He needs a few more tools to be on par with Lawbringer.

If all characters had the same risk/reward setup as Lawbringer it would be fun. With other classes having BS moves the Lawbringer just looks weak.

If they just removed the stupid damage flinch from light attacks, then the slower classes would instantly be better balanced.

just one thread that disagrees with you. there are countless others, which call for a lawbringer nerf. some even consider him one of the 'big four' (whatever that means lol). i don't think he needs anything. he's good where he is. I don't play him btw.

This is actually the worst thing they could do. It is proven that straight nerfs repulse the player base. Nerfed characters users have already spent tens and hundreds of hour in mastering a given character and they will be eventually forced to use cut off version of their characters with less tools. That's why the correct way is to tweak the lacking characters and NOT to nerf characters who are already decent enough. Nobody likes nerfs except some bad players who will keep on getting destroyed even after nerfs because of their denial to adjust and get good at first place.

So we make everyone like warlord and fights will never end 😂 They will end of course - slowly and with one little mixup.

IF all characters had the balance of Lawbringer the game would be better - regardless of people being hurt by nerfs.

Granted, I'm speaking outside my "area" of knowledge here, but is there any other heroes that doesn't get a "free" heavy after a parry, no mater if it's heavy or light?

Yeah several, but really no one should. It's just pimping the defensive meta. If they make parry defensive only, the defensive meta will be reduced a lot.

Unfortunately if they did that, being too aggressive would have no drawback, since there would be no retaliation.

Unless they kept guard breaks after parries, which would just net a free heavy anyway.

Changes to parry are necessary, but difficult to actually do in practice since it's a core concept of the combat system.

In my opinion, more needs to be done about exhaustion (Running out of stamina completely). Parrying takes away a lot of an attacker's stamina, so maybe if they made exhaustion much more impactful they could remove the free heavy after parries. That would subtly buff characters like Raider and Lawbringer who currently lack tools for doing damage directly, but not make defensive play on its own even more viable than it currently is. Since Raider and Lawbringer are both masters of draining stamina, it could be a buff without any actual changes to the characters themselves.

I've personally been a fan of the idea where if you're exhausted you shouldn't be able to dodge or parry, making you have to just block attacks and counter guard breaks. That would make block damage and block damage resistance much more of a useful stat and prevent people (such as assassins) from just dodging away to complete safety whenever they run out of stamina. Another option in this would be to make someone dodge significantly slower during exhaustion, so they can still avoid things like the Lawbringer's Long Arm or other unblockable shoves.

    Thoughts?
