Fun fact: I was originally going to post it there because I assumed that it was the correct place, but most of the threads seemed related to the faction, not the classes. I just posted in General Discussion as a safe bet! Anyway, thank you for moving it.Originally Posted by UbiNoty Go to original post
I’m actually a bit iffy on feinting with Nobushi. I don’t mean that you should never, under any circumstance, feint as her, but I just feel like there are better methods that you can do to confuse or trick your enemy.Originally Posted by xXl Plan B lXx Go to original post
As for your first question – and I hope I understood – the timing must be done presicely. Once the wind-up starts, you must feint. If you are already swinging, it’s too late. Remember, you can only feint a heavy attack and you cannot feint if you’re out of stamina.
As for the guard break timer, I’m not offering any aid in that as it’ll be changed and corrected soon.
Thank you!Originally Posted by ReggiR Go to original post
Once you find the ‘sweet spot’ on console it’s a really powerful asset, just it’s not worth the stamina that you waste flicking out of the form. By all means, if you can use it perfectly, go ahead.
Oh, I have seen some great Hidden Stance players. It saddens me that I can’t get it to work.

Example: Parry > Grab > Heavy attack > Kick > Light attack > Kick > Light attack.
There’s a great chance that the enemy won’t be able to block your combo at all. You can then back off and regain stamina while your bleed continues to punish them.
P.S: I hate versing a good Warden. :’c
Hello. Can I ask what parts you disagree with? I’m not trying to question you, or anything, but I just want to know so I can improve it.Originally Posted by Zakmuffin Go to original post
I’m currently Reputation 4, level 6. I haven’t played for a few days as I haven’t had time. I think I’m just lucky as I mostly verse people about the same as me. I have had a few rep 1’s and 2’s in my duels, but other than that, mostly the same. Just the other day I versed a rep 7 Orochi, which was rather fun.
A lot of people make the same mistake. The first time I saw her played, which was in the beta, I was like, “Lol easy champ” and when I finally played her I was a little overwhelmed, but I stuck with her and now I don’t want to play anything else.Originally Posted by Brave_Thunder Go to original post
A 40% winrate isn’t that bad, to be honest. That’s the winrate of my Kensei, lol.
Fast, mobile characters are the bane of her. She’s a zoning character with forward thrusts, not sweeps (excluding a few heavy attacks, but they are not optimal to spam). Anyone who can dash and close the distance on her will beat her assuming they commit and stay in her face. Her attack pattern is predictable and easily countered by average enemies, assuming they’re playing one of those you listed.
Peacekeepers are just a pain to beat. It’s sad they’re getting common because they just decimate her with one small mistake.
Of of course feel free to test anything I say. I just want to improve the guide. I'll probably add details tomorrow but here's just a couple examples from the combos you're mentioning.Originally Posted by PostModernWeeb Go to original post
1. Parry > Grab > Heavy attack > Kick > Light attack > Kick > Light attack : This isn't really a combo in a smooth sense of the word. You're writing light attack, but I think you meant to add (bleed) at the end like you did in your first post. Parry > Grab > Heavy attack > Kick > cobra strike > side winder would be better. Cobra strikes don't chain into kicks, but they do chain into dashes and cobra strikes. Side winder does chain into kick, so it could be added if you opponent hasn't been punishing you.
2. Heavy (top) > Feint > Sidewinder > Light attack > Kick > Light attack (bleed) > Kick > Sidewinder. : You actually wouldn't have enough stamina to complete this even if it did chain.
Heavy (top) > Feint > Sidewinder > Kick > cobra strike (bleed) This is a superior combo that chains. The slow unexpected kick that comes after sidewinder can throw the opponent off balance.
Some things of note are:
- cobra strike can only have the attack followed by a side dodge and side dodge based attacks, hidden stance and viper's retreat
- side winder can have the attack followed by any dodge direction and dodge based attack, hidden stance, kick and viper's retreat
- viper's retreat can have the attack followed by a side dodge and side dodge based attacks, and hidden stance
- basic lights/heavies can have the attack followed by hidden stance, kick and viper's retreat
People can come up with their own combos as they find the situation to be useful.
Nobushi's top attack recovery is superior (faster) to her side attack recovery A cheesy combo to use on noobs would be to back them against a wall GB > TOP heavy > kick against wall > TOP heavy, repeat. It will chain as long as you were in TOP stance and they dont dodge your kick. Also while in revenge heavy >kick (knockdown)>heavy > kick repeat. Destroy all noobs. xD
Hidden stance is amazing. I had a LOT of trouble getting it to go off when I started. If you hold (R) down near the end of an attack animation that might help you do it in between attacks. I use a ps4 controller too, but with practice I'm able to hidden stance zone attacks and counter with the quick 2-3 light combo for some good damage.
