Why save caches?

Weekly caches will have named exotic items in 1.6.
I'm saving prof caches so I don't lose more Phoenix credits on the ground when I open them. Cap is raised from 2000 to 5000

And the gear in the caches will have the new gear bonuses if you wait to open them.

Why save caches?

Weekly cache changes are retroactive, so if you have some Weekly caches now, they'll come with the guaranteed exotic drop once 1.6 is deployed.

Been mostly an AR DPS player since release. I consider myself pretty prepared:

• 5 or 6 Skull's Gloves
• A boatload of HE's with high rolls and specific talents
• Sadly only 1 shortbow Kneepad (low armor roll as well :x)
• 20 or so Famas's: Come at me RNG, I challenge you!!
• 4 MDR's
• 8 Weekly Assignment Caches

Finally got a Barret's Vest last night, but it's a crap roll. Got it from a Survival Cache.

I'm not "prepared" at all, in the sense that some others on this thread are. Sure, I'm at 256 with a loadout I'm not entirely displeased with. Last time I tried, I was able to solo a Challenging mission with it. I've acquired as many of the named weapons in the Base as I can. There are a couple I don't have, but I can't be bothered grinding the 2,400-odd PCs to buy them. I figure my toon is at a level where I can at least go into the new DZ zones or Last Stand and not be completely useless. Besides, the meta will change as usual, so I'll wait to see what the fallout is of all the balance changes and go from there.

I'd see people do this type of thing in Destiny, where they'd stock up on exotic engrams and mats, then go hog-wild on the first day of new content. They'd hit max light by the end of that day and then be all "What now?" Despite what some people say, this isn't actually a race. I'll go into Last Stand with my current stock of gear and funds (about 80M credits last time I checked) and let the content play out as it does. I guess that makes me a "filthy casual" but I'm OK with that.

I guess I'll be making sure to complete my weekly assignment in 1.6 then. I can't stand grinding the same mission over and over, so I probably won't get too many that way.

It's mostly Skull's Gloves you'll need for damage output. The rest really depends on preference.
