[Matchmaking] In "Gear - Active" matchmaking, should be based on itemlevel NOT "time"

Maybe an unclear title however what I am trying to get at is the current matchmaking I believe is played on either "time" or cumulative EXP or something.

What I would like to see INSTEAD is on the 4v4 gametypes where gear is active, I would like to do Character selection PRE-QUE which then matches me against other players with similar item level.

Now some people might just say "git good" or whatever, I get it...

However when Purple gear lets you stack all the Revenge stats, its a pretty unfair advantage. I "main" one class but occasionally want to try other classes, yet in 4v4 games I cant because not only am I a scrub with new characters (not knowing their moves) I also have zero gear on him which compounds the effect. I recently started leveling an alt up and constantly am matched against 90+ gear players and many max geared... I might as well not even que in 4v4 games as new characters.

There needs to be a more friendly system for matchmaking. Heck, last night I que for Elimination. I get matched with 3 AI on my team against a full team of 90+ Gear score players. Needless to say we lost 3-0 as I get 2v1 and 3v1d. Now, if I were maxed, its POSSIBLE I might be able to even those odds with all the gear...

Also, if I Que with a friend... to try and "teach" him the game, he gets matched against players I get matched with... Gets destroyed and hates the game.

Seems like matchmaking could improve a little. Pick Character first, THEN select match-type and add the character level/gearlevel into matchmaking to make it more fair.

    This is becoming increasingly limiting.

I can handle myself well on my Rep 5 Orochi, I have 108 gear which is fun. I dont mind playing other 108s either. If I ever want to start a new class to learn, I STILL get matched against 108 players - because of the time and rep my account is....

not just that, but say i want to bring a NEW player to the game and "show him around". We get matched against players of my skill level and he gets wrecked... Gets zero kills, and doesnt want to play again.

Matchmaking REALLY needs to be looked at again. When players play "new classes" or want to bring in "new people" into the game, its almost better when they DONT play with you because they will face "good" players.

The game really needs to be split into a "ranked" vs "unranked" matchmaking system.
It would also be cool if that "rank" corresponds to the specific character you played.

So my Orochi would be a high "rank" and match against high "rank" players, but if I play with a NEW person, I can play a Warden for instance, who is much lower rank (rep 1) and we would get matched against lower level opponents. More fair for him and me(since im learning a new class).

I am surprised this isnt a bigger issue for people? How are you convincing friends who try it to stay after getting 2 shot from a max revenge gear player and they dont know how they lost?
