Well, the idea I propose is very simple, really. Create a third bar with at least 2 or 3 blocks you can make this bar yellow.
How it would work is that every time someone uses guard break they would waste on block, they the bar could be replenished two types of way; killing the little soldiers or waiting for a curtain time till it refills. This would be about 2 to 3 times of use so which is why i said 2 - 3 Guard break bars. This is simply to be fair not be so damn spammie with the Guard Break.
I know Spammers with no skills would hate the idea, but What do you guys think?
EDIT: Don't get what Im saying look at the naruto style substitution bar, or the wwe 2k17 reversal bar.
Limiting GB is fine but limiting CGB isn't effective. If you are limited in the amount of GB you have then you would have the same limit in CGB. Setting the limit lower on CGB would just further break the problem with GB right now. Spam GB until they run out and can't counter it. At least now with enough class knowledge you can CGB every time.
Wouldn't it be unfair to have someone spam GBC every time, you try and GB them? I think the best way to fix this would be to leave GBC how it is right now, and just make the limit on the GB.Originally Posted by mrdjwess645 Go to original post
I mean it would have the same limit as GB, so people can be more tactical instead of having unlimited amounts of GB or GBC. I mean you can already counter a grab by hitting the person while they try and grab you.
You can't spam CGB because you still have to time it. It would be like a mortal combat system where you have to use some of your meter in order to break the combo. In the case of MK it takes two bars out of 3. So if you implement that here you would run out of CGB before the person using GB which could result in free Gb if you dont predict ti then attack to stop it.Originally Posted by HollowFactor Go to original post
Countering guard break actually requires timing and effort much greater than just spamming guard break in and of itself. There are ways to get uncounterable guard breaks such as after a player dodges, or after you have parried someone.Originally Posted by HollowFactor Go to original post
If someone is full-on spamming GB, just hit them with a quick light attack or surprise them with a heavy swing in between. Their GB will bounce off and you'll potentially set yourself up for a combo.
I don't see a reason for this at all. They're going to revert GB back to its beta state which should make it easier to counterplay for people, and spamming it already doesn't really work unless you're unprepared or tilting/missing your timings.
Well actually, GB with lawbringer is a horrible spam that you can rarely get out off. GBC can go back to beta phase, but adding this limitation on the GB (not GBC) would be based more on skill then having people spam it with broken moves.Originally Posted by PrimaGoosa Go to original post
I can counter it with a light him but there are times when you don't have that change and people just spam the same guard break combo.
GB is needed to land hits. You cannot really balance or change GB, as long it is such a centerpiece of combat.
It is sad that a single button has such an impact and must of the depth surrounding it are just distractions to press that button.
Change the core mechanics, not a hard task really. Then you'd be able to repurpose GB into something good. Like breaking blocks. Initiating a GB could be done after a block, with a window equal to the counter guard break. Then the two would be balanced.

I kinda rarely use the gb button simply because I can evade and quickly kill my enemies with some good chain combos. The reason I started using a bit is because people love to spam these moves that seem a bit broken. (basically moves you can't really get out off at rarely) there are people who really spam the same combo plus guard brake which really takes no skill to spam. So my reason for the idea, is to make people use the GB wisely this way it's even harder to use and you need to be more tactical when to use it and when not. Of course you can get the three bars back, by either execution (Im meh about that), waiting for a while or killing soldiers in dominion and skirmish.Originally Posted by Mr_Gallows Go to original post
This can also be seen in Naruto, WWE it make's people play more tactically, The GBC is already really hard to preform on players, they could keep the GBC as is if they want. But placing this on the GB itself would help people spam the GB every second just because they have no actual skill and their opponent can rarely get out. It simply get annoying, it has nothing to do with being bad or good.
I'm not a bad player I just don't like that people spam a GB or a move which they can do many times, without being punished for it. Specially when the move tracks you, the game is not very balanced, you also have big guys moving at unbelievable or unrealistic speeds.
Example a long sword is heavy and the warden swings it like hes holding a kitchen knife XD simply because you want to get these issues fixed or give an idea of how to get it fixed you always have that one loser who says "git gud" can't even spell "get good."
