    Huge disappointment

So I played For Honour through the Alpha and both Betas. My initial opinion of the game is that it was probably going to be an instant hit.
This view did not change through the closed Beta. It then swiftly took a U-turn around the open Beta.
I was introduced to the general community, that is the For Honour community and OMG they are all using the cheapest tactics and moves. Every game played I came across people who would not stop trying to guard break me until I was off an edge. Or certain characters would just use the run and charge abilities they had.
As a peace keeper though I didn't mind. I would dodge and parry and stab till I won. Then the game hit full release and I was foolish enough to buy it.
I found that Ubisoft has put little to no effort into the matchmaking of this game. The community is filled with people whose only goal is to throw everyone off a cliff. The gear is a terrible addition to a game that should try to encourage the growth of combat skill.
So here's my list of ways this game could be improved. Until then I want my money back.

    1. Matchmaking needs to put me with people close to my level. I’m sick of being on a team with people all around my level but our opponents are all level 5 champions with over 100 gear rating. (My gear rating is currently 9) Does this seem broken to anyone else?

    2. Have an Honour system. The game is called For Honour and yet lacks any reference to Honour throughout. It rewards people for being trolls. Just off the top of my head. You could award 1 honour point for every 1v1 kill. 2 honour points for any 2v1 (where you are the one at a disadvantage). 3 points for 3v1, you see where I am going with this. You would earn 0 honour points if you helped gank somebody and that person would also forfeit their honour point because you helped. Finally you would lose 1 honour point for all ledge kills.
This honour rating would be used for nothing more than matchmaking purposes. All those people who throw people off edges constantly would be matched with other like-minded *******s and I could be left in peace as the most honourable man online.

    3. Gear shouldn’t continually get better. Each piece of gear should contain a perk. (like CoD) So yeah having better gear will improve your stats but you wont be running around like a god-damn iron man who gets revenge if anyone looks at him funny. It would mean customization options would be greater. E.g. I have a helm that Improves my stamina usage by 10%, if it were legendary it would be 20%. Then I have a sword hilt that improves my attack by 10% and so on. This would mean that people could have builds for different characters. It would also mean that even if you didn't get around to fixing the matchmaking I still wouldn’t feel like I was at such a disadvantage against higher levelled characters.

    4. I know character balancing takes time but I highly suggest someone in your office actually plays the game because you will find that some of the characters are just a little to cheap. E.g. Nobushi being able to poison with no combo. Just the push of a button. It wouldn’t be so bad if they didn’t have the greatest range and speed of any character. Or how about the raider being able to do an unblockable with just the tap of a button, once again it wouldn’t be so bad if it wasn’t used cheaply in conjunction with his running charge. . No skill required. That's my major irk, remove the no skill required characters. Make them harder to use so that people are forced to improve rather than rely on the cheap natures of the characters.

I honest to god hope they fix this game. It was so close to being perfect and then came the Open Beta and Full Release. Disappointment is not a strong enough word for how I feel.

I agree there are aspects of the game that need improving, but everything you just named aren't problems. They're your weaknesses. Practice.

How can poor matchmaking and overpowered gear be my weakness? They nerf my favourite character, I don't complain. I am matched up against people who are dishonourable, to be polite. I find that the later levelled gear gives too much of an advantage. Today I watched a Nobushi survive a 3v1 because he got revenge 6 times in the space of 30 seconds. His gear score was 119. Are you telling me that this is my weakness and I need to work on it.

Sure I'll take that all on board if you can tell me how to go about getting better at these problems.

There was a lot of whining about OP peacekeepers since they're appearance, even now some people says that pk is op(i think that in current state they a outperform a little, but not gamebreakinig)

About nobushi i completely agree, or they're cheap poison should be nerfed, or usage of it should be more risky than hitting LA from huge distance

Also top gear is just forgives too much, it should not give half revenge bar for being hit

First of all matchmaking must leave to enter a game then you can worry for their skill PvP.

Matchmaking is a complete disaster, along with the spamming of grabs and guard breaks. This game became a game of holding your guard up and just waiting to parry, or counter guard break and waiting til the other person runs out of stamina and spams you to death. They ruined this game from beta, they took all our suggestions and pitched them. It's sad but Ubisoft is known for s******* on their customers just like this.

Matchmaking does not match people based on the prestige and ilvl of the class they are playing. You pick your class AFTER you are in a match, so you are being put into much farer groups than you seem to understand.

If you want honorable fights go play 1v1. The entire point of having teams is to organize yourself in the most efficient way possible to capture objectives or get kills. When one team is less organized than another you end up in 1v2s and 1v3s. If you dont want to ever be outnumbered just get better at map awareness so you can start running before you are pinned in. The revenge system is already an honor system, and while it does not give you a free win in a 1v2, if evens the odds if you use it smartly.

Gear always comes with a penalty. Sure I get insane throw distance, and pretty good revenge from defending, but I need to sacrifice ALL of my revenge from injury. If someone builds revenge and keeps getting it easy you will just need to get better at not letting them generate it. If they get revenge that easily they took pretty serious penalties in other stats and have payed the price for it.

Nobushi's are the easiest class to parry in the game since they have the largest weapon compared to body size. Also they are completely helpless when you close into the fight. Anyone you are perceiving as overpowered is only overpowered because they are effectively countering you. If you want to fight a nobushi and win more than you lose you will need to play an assassin who can close distance faster.

    1) Matchmaking is good on PS4. Assuming your running PC version?

    2) They are fixing Counter GB so it will be easier to perform in next patch. Hard to argue it isnt annoying facing players like that.... just spam lights in their face if they wanna keep grabbing.

    3) Gear isnt really THAT big of a deal. I've gotten to 35 gear score and the benefits are minor. I've played verse a few max score players (eg: 100+) and honestly not too noticeable. Those sliders look intense but its a small boost.

    4) I don't think the char traits you mentioned are particularly unbalanced. Best suggestion, play those characters to 10-15 and you should get an idea of their attack ranges/weaknesses.

Feat isn't THAT big of a deal? A shugoki with 108 gear score can one shot everyone..

A shugoki with level 1 gear can one shot everyone so that's not a very good context to use. They hit very slow with a telegraphed attack even other shugs are quick enough to parry/dodge.

I honestly can't say I notice a difference with low and high gear, we'd need people to run tests to show what differences they actually make. And remember, for every stat pushed super high, they likely have another pushed super low. It's not straight up better gear, just more unbalanced gear.
