Please teach me how to stand up to Orochi bullies.

When I fight Orochi they dodge attack, dodge attack, guard break. I can counter the guard break reliably but the side dodge attacks are a killer for me. It seems like they wait until I do anything then dodge my advance and attack.

How can I keep this from happening?

Any good Orochis wanna weigh in on what shuts you down?

All advice and insults are much appreciated!

Well im a fairly decent Orochi so lets just say its a counter - attack class. So you need to be more defensive. I have trouble with ranged attacks and turtle style players if you play to aggresive then you will be killed fairly easily. Just practice your parrying and feint your attacks they key is to keep em guessing.

    Thank you!

I usually get frustrated and start swinging wildly. It sounds like this is exactly what you want. I will slow it down a bit and work on my parry skills.

    I really appreciate the advice.

Is there anything a lowly Warden does that you find particularly difficult to deal with?

    Parry dodge attacks (zephyr strike).

I used to have a lot of trouble Orochi until I discovered how easy it is to parry the dodge attack.

Now I punish them with a parry on storm rush. I punish them if they engage me with an overhead attack. I punish them if they dodge attack.

If you do those 3 things you'll often make an Orochi stumble over himself.

Many assassin players rely too heavily on dodge. If you can get momentum on them and then go after them with light attack chains/spam then often they'll just die because they won't block any of them and your attacks will come in too fast for them to complete a dodge.

Thanks Peligrad, I have a friend that plays a lot of Orochi. I'll do some zephyr strike parry practice with him to tighten that up a bit.

    Great advice!

1-Feint your attacks and parry as soon as he does the dodge side attack. You'll get a free heavy overhead off that since it's considered a light attack.
2-If they dodge a lot without following up with anything, just grab them. It's a free Guardbreak 90% of the time.
3-Pressure them by dashing forward or on the side. They tend to react by either dodging or attack which you can then pushing by either grabing them or parrying them.

I love the mind games here! This is some high level strategy and I really appreciate it. My feint game is still pretty rough but you have given me a solid goal to push towards.

I love your third point. I can see them reacting to my dodge forward then using their habit against them.

You have shown me the higher levels of combat are more about combining your cunning with your technical skill and good habits. I will start thinking in this way.

    Thanks for the advice!

I'd like to take a minute here to reflect back in time.

You are the author to this painful to read thread right?
    http://forums.ubi.com/showthread.php...ochi-is-broken

I love how in the span of 22 days or so, Orochi no longer seem to be a problem and you have now found solution to the "overpowered" Orochi.

Let this be a lesson to every single person out there reading this thread and future threads, but sometimes, the "git gud" argument plays out just fine.

at least his thread contained some feedback about what he though orochi was so strong at. i guess people pointed out the flaws in his logic and he took their advice to heart.
there are tons of thread here that contain exclusively whining where you can tell right away that guy could not beat my grandma playing valk and would not be able to block a storm rush even if it was coming 50% slower and his life depended on it.

anyways, to the OP: your a rare breed in this forum. instead of crying your heart out you decided to ask for advice and found a lot of useful tips. i am sure its gonna work out for you. one thing i would add: keep your guard on the top. all fast orochi attacks come from that direction, besides the zone attack.
