All DLC characters and maps are to be released free. You will just have to pay to unlock them in game with steel. WHat the steel cost will be nobody but Ubi knows, but you won't HAVE to pay with real world currency.
Perhaps, but steel does have real world value. While you wouldn't absolutely be forced to pay for it, and could earn it instead, being potentially gimped for a while because you'd be playing a subpar hero against something extremely broken isn't a fun experience.

You can play as any hero without unlocking them with steel. Unlocking them only allows you the ability to customize their cosmetics and equipment.

    So, what's the problem here?

Also, if you're worried about having to spend steel to recruit the class so you can equip gear so that you can win that you're all wrong because gear isn't ****. I've killed plenty of GS 108 characters with my not even rep 1 classes plenty of times. Gear is just to give some flexible customization to your play style, it's not a means for having any advantage.
Are you trying to tell me, that you don't believe gear is even an advantage?

    *facepalm*

I was referring to, with the use of subpar, as a subpar version of the same hero in comparison to one fully geared. Granted, could've given it more clarity.

I feel like they have kind of run out of weapons for Vikings though. They could have a Viking that wields an Atgeir, but it would probably be too similar to the Raider. If they are to make additional Vikings, they will have to be creative, and give them weapons Vikings didnt traditionally use. Knights have a lot of room, especially if they are willing to borrow from different eras of knights. Could use a Warhammer, a mace, could have a knight with a smaller/ lighter sword than the Warden, or even one with a larger sword that is slower. They could oull from different era, and have a Roman Centurian, or even a spartan. They arent really knights, but they fit a similar mold. Samurai have some room to grow. A samurai who weilds a Shoge Hook could be cool, although not really sure how they would block using a shoge hook. There could be a Samurai that weilds dual Sai, though that may just be a copy of the Peace Keeper. Many of the different weapons Samurai traditionally used were very similar to Katanas though, just diffifernt sizes, thickness, and bent in slightly different ways.

    Therefore... An advantage.

This topic is derailing. Y'all should get back on track.

The topic is about what DLC we would like, not debating equipment and it's value.

Well yeah, of course you do, and then he grabs you and throws you behind him and you die. So no, your advantage was all in your head.
I'm pretty sure doing more damage, or having more revenge gains, is a real advantage.

Personally would love to see a Spartan, however I know the general move set would be probaby to similar to a Valkyrie to be worth the addition. Thoughts anyone?
As someone already suggested, a knight with a warhammer or a mace would be fun but might be too similar to the conqueror. I can't really think of a new class of heroes for all of the existing factions though.

If we are to get a new faction I personally think that something similar to the "Saracens" or Persians would make most sense. They would fit well into the medieval setting of the game and there are many possibilities to add new heroes to each of the already existing classes. Also, there are a lot of different types of curved swords and oriental knives that could be used by them, e.g. a two-handed scimitar for the vanguard class
