Hi all fellow upset and disgruntled players, I was fortunate enough to face the error 7-00000005 on xbox preventing me from even getting past the starting title screen since I bought this game a few days ago. I know you guys are probably going to skim this over as this kind of problem is common in these threads unfortunately.
I have tried every "solution" I could find: Hard reset the xbox, Nat is Open, Network tests passed just fine, forwarded the 12 listed ports for the game, placed my xbox into the DMZ zone, plugged the xbox directly into the modem, even bought a newer shiny modem, and tried 3 different possible DNS configurations. To no avail... This all with spending 4-6 hours if not more talking to 3-4 different live chat employees that all have come to the conclusion that outside of those "Basic troubleshooting sticky threads" they have no answer. I'm now waiting via email on any updates to fix this problem.
But before you raise your pitchforks and torches remember this... those people at their support (even though it is slow, possibly under staffed, or in some cases for people inexistent) they only have as much information to "fix" this problem which I think at this point we have all of it as well. They don't know every answer, they only know that they are told, as with every IT tech support. I am to blame for this myself, I too had a little backlash in anger, I spent a lot of money to get nothing in return but frustration and feeling cheated. But try not to outpour your frustration at that poor individual on the other end... I wouldn't want to be in their position at the moment myself. They didn't make the game, and they didn't sell you the game.. they are just the ones hired to try and fix things that were caused by the actual developers.
Do what you want, whether its ask for a refund, boycott, whatever tickles your fancy... but don't make someone's job more miserable that it already probably is, they didn't do this to you.
I've had my rant, I've blown off steam, now I've decided to wait... it's all I can do <--- (unfortunate sop who bought a digital copy)
Thanks for your time,
Sincerely,
Another upset/disgruntled player.
