I love this game, nice to look, despite of all tears around I think it is pretty balance (well...1vs1 and 2vs2, the rest has awfull/none matchmaking and is not fun at all)
however p2p is killing me. 40-50k players online and game is not able to create 1vs1 or 2vs2 for 3-5 mins. It is just stupid. I am sure these complain is not first, but I think it should be repeated over and over and if there is a simple change, that UBI will fix this stupid, not working solution and deploy dedicated server, it worth to mention.
For the love of God please switch to dedicated servers, u could do it with rainbow six siege, so do it here also. I have constant green nat but always disconnected coz of host leaving, and the resynch not working. Could not play many matches because of that. Btw u need to give us smth back, because we paid money and cant really play so...
People auto complaining about p2p without understanding that it was choosen on purpose because it has its own benefits is really sad. Connection lost problems are a complete other topic but please dont always talk about changing from p2p to a dedicated service, as this would have its own downsides (like problems on ping/reaction times, as you can basically see in every dedicated multiplay game)
I wonder how much deifferance there is in connection problems between platforms.
I play on PS4 with a mediocre connection (up to 60 down) and:
- I experiance very little to no lag, I am yet to face a "teleporting" opponent, I play a lot and only 1 match was unpleyable because of constant retriving data
- I get dissconnects, but not very often offen, nowhere near to be a deal breaker
- host migration happens very quick, it does sometimes drops the match completely but it's rare
- yes, weird stuff happens, like 3 people droping of at the same time (a team? maybe they just quit?) but not very often
I must say I was quite impressed with the functionality and lack of lag problems in this game until I read the forums - my personal experiance was nowhere near as bad as people make it to be on the forums.
I belive anyone who claims P2P makes the game unpleyable for them and I think it's a true shame for Ubisoft, but as I said - maybe it's more of a platform (PC?) or bad connection problem in a lot of cases?
Ill just leave this here:

It's happening boys.
That's very disconcerting :-(Originally Posted by Montana8 Go to original post
Won't using servers make a slight delay compared to P2P?
My understanding was nearly all fight games use P2P.
Not sure...the point is though, that ppl can see your public IP adress. This is a major security issue. Having ppl to drop hack you (ddos) is just a bitter addition to p2p. It has actually happned to me that some random guys was ranting me and ddos'd my IP. Had to restart my router to solve the problem.Originally Posted by Varicose_Veins Go to original post
5-10 years ago this wouldn't have been an issue. Nowaydays however, I feel that publishers of an AAA title such as For Honor should be aware of the danger they are putting their customers in.
Ubisoft needs to comment on this.
What the actual **** are u talking about noob? How many games with dedicated servers u played resulted in problems with reaction times?Originally Posted by Raziel_85 Go to original post)))))))))) The problems with reaction times happens in p2p. But maybe u never played dedicated servers. All blizzard games have dedicated servers and in none of them u have problems with ping or reaction times unless u play from Antarctica. CS:GO laggy players can be punished. Here the laggy players punish the green NATs. So I don't know what you're smoking, but it's not good, change the dealer.
there is only reason why UBI decided for P2P - save money, everything else is in favor of dedicated server (and players, but UBI never really care about players) and security issue is also problem + they practically cut off people behind strict NAT which in my eyes is quite a strong reason for them to ask their money backOriginally Posted by Raziel_85 Go to original post
