Try it by executing two heavies after a light riposte, the second one is unblockable.Originally Posted by Shinimas Go to original post
So you did Judge, Jury and Executioner.
Second attack just comes out after a recovery time of the light riposte, which is incredibly long and doesn't it make look like you did a chain.
The Lawbringer is one of the best Dominion heroes you can ask for on your team to lock down opponents and to shut down the revenge mechanic. It is the hero I fear the most when seeing one on the enemy team. I used to judge heroes based on their 1v1 duel potential alone when I only played duels (through all of beta), but now I understand that the heroes are being balanced through Dominion value more than actual 1v1s.
Your post on the Lawbringer touches just barely on his Dominion value, and even though I'm not a Lawbringer main, I could write a lot more about what he brings to the table in Dominion. I suspect you aren't a Dominion player, judging by the focus of your post (which is insightful, btw, just very focused on 1v1s).
No, actually I almost exclusively play Lawbringer in Dominion because that's where he IS useful. However, I actually like to play other modes too, and would like to be able to Duel and Brawl as well. I'm quite aware that he's good in Dom. However, the same could be said of all characters. But that's a problem in and of itself, isn't it? Why have characters who are ONLY good in one game mode? I can take a Warlord, a Shugoki, a Nobushi, a Valk, etc etc and have them be good in all modes. Do you see how that's kind of a huge bummer?Originally Posted by default91 Go to original post
Really hope the devs read ur post xDreegan. They will balance him as they see fit but LB has some other issues that need to be addressed.
Im a Rep-18 LawBringer as of today and there are still mechanics of which I do not understand.
Revenge mode shove- as OP as it is, it doesn't knock down at times meaning the damn move is broken. I really hate these type of attacks but when there are other characters who have similar traits such as conqueror (shield bash + heavy attack loop) they need to make sure shove knocks down 100%. Or is there some mechanic I dont know about? which is why the knock down fails.
Opponents being out of range after a parry- I'm not entirely sure how this happens (has nothing to do with range cuz i've parryed at point blank and they are too far to connect with guard break) but the only way to close the gap is with ur light chain after a parry. After parrying a heavy, our go to option is guard break into side heavy but at times ur opponent is too far to guardbreak. if we could just perform a regular side heavy after a parry like Berserker can or maybe guarantee impaling charge after a heavy parrry the LB life would be chill.
There is also a game mechanic i've not been able to do consistently, when your opponent is near stairs or steps ur shove can cause a knock down and I just have no way of doing this 100%. what gives? maybe some one can share some light into the unknown.
There is an exploit right now that a lot of assassins are abusing where they can avoid being knocked down by changing their stance while falling down. It's some weird glitch with their temporary guard "drawback" (drawback in quotes since the temp guard time is so large that it never comes into play).Originally Posted by KALUHS Go to original post
That has to do with the range of the opponent's weapon, and maybe some of the attacks that they're using. Those opponents will generally be out of range of a GB unless they're backed up against a wall. It's generally people with spear-like weapons that benefit from this. Nobushi is the poster child of being out of range of a punish after getting parried. Also Valk, and I think at least some of the moves in Kensai's toolset place him out of GB range if he gets parried. Despite the surprisingly short range of LB's attacks, he's generally safe from GB's on parry as well.Originally Posted by KALUHS Go to original post
if thats what it is, its not restricted to sins as all classes have avoided a knock down from my shove in revenge.
The opponent being out of range happens with all other classes not just nobushi who is 100% always out of range for a guard break. With her i understand but this happens with the other heroes in such an inconsistent manner.
I think it comes down to whether or not some action interrupts the fall down animation and places the opponent in another state.
For example revenge shove should knock down the target, but a friendly conq shield bashing can place the opponent more safely into a stagger. I think getting shoved into other players or walls also might place the opponent into another state. Assassins just have a way to cheat the system by themselves under all circumstances.
For the GB after parries I think it may actually be tied to attacks rather than characters. Where Nobushi's entire arsenal is safe, but only some of kensai's attacks are safe, etc.
The more I play the Lawbringer, the more I utterly hate playing the Lawbringer. He has so little to actually bring to a fight, and none of it is even remotely safe to use. Against good players, you're a one-trick pony whose solely reliant on parrying lights for damage. And frankly, if you can manage that with Lawbringer's terrible guard change, you'd do so much more with a Warden or a Peacekeeper. Why even bother?
The one brightside to LB that I see that sets him apart from other classes is his "Righteous Deflection" feat.
That defense boost stacked on top of defense gear can make his healthbar pretty crunchy in 4v4 matches.
Ofcourse at present LB has absolutely NOTHING to capitalize on that with. He can't even trade attacks since for some stupid reason he doesn't have any hyper armor whatsoever on his attacks but characters like Warlord get hyper armor on his attacks for seemingly no reason other than to add insult to injury.
