How to fix the unbalanced matchmaking

So as most of you probably have noticed there is a huge problem with balancing in the matchmaking of For Honor. While trying out new characters I find myself routinely matched up with people who are prestige 3-8, and it does very little for my enjoyment of the game.

But there is a solution, and it's pretty simple and easy to implement.

The first step is to have a system where you lock in a character before you join a match, not after, this will help with character balancing, and also for the second step.

The second step is to have a basic skill system that measures how good you are with that character.

It doesn't have to be too complicated but it needs to be able to measure your skill with that character of your choice, and be adjustable as you get better with that character.

See this way you lock in a character say, the warden, and we'll say you're skill rating is 1000 with that character (or whatever it may be with their system.) You'll be paired up with other people who's skill with the character they locked in is around 1000.

And that's it, it's not ubisoft's first time with a skill system, so they can do it. And they should do it to, For Honor is desperately in need of a balancing system and by having a well balanced game where skill, not dumb luck of who you're paired up with, is what decides who wins and who loses.

If you agree and know how to contact Ubisoft about this please do. I know I will be.

I do feel that at least for duel since you don't know who you will be fighting either way, you should pre select the char before going into queue.
Also there should be a lvl cochin so that low lvls that might be having way higher hidden mmr than what's supposed don't go up against players that have a lot more time played and therefore knowledge of chars, mechanics etc then they do.

As for team objective games, meh. I think the problem is more the gear itself messing too much with the base stats and sometimes overpowering a decent team comp or even skill for the matter.
Don't play that much dominion, but from the looks of it, no amount of skill, team play can counter stats that are so above your own in the hands of someone that is average and knows the basics for the game.
Good way to sell steel and champion status etc. But rather than that appears to need fixing and to be the may problem there

Itd also be nice when I leave a duel or brawl after deploying my assests, usually because I no longer want to play with them for whatever reason, that upon re-entering the que I match with one of the other thousands of people playing the game.. instead of the same 5 people that Im trying to avoid.

    Just a thought..

Character choice have maden just cause to balance your team like in dota, for example: 1 tank, 1 assassin, 1 avangard or 2 tanks or whatever else tactics you can come up with

Well, one week in it's already too late for that I suppose. Ubisoft already efficiently scared away the vast majority of all the newcomers with this horribly unfair matchmaking. They didn't stand a chance to discover the game and the combat mechanics. All they've experienced in this game is unfair matches, getting stomped and trashtalked over and over again for being new. Just look at the population during prime time. It's basically the same nerds who were in the betas, only without the noobs

PvP in this game is just masochism. I wouldn't be surprised to see this game dead by the time Ubisoft implements ranked mode, if it even lasts that long.

If they wanted to fix matchmaking, they would have pitted players +/- 10 character levels against each other. Beta matchmaking wasn't perfect, but it was WAY better that the pile of manure we got at launch. Yeah, you might still get the veterans who just try out a new character thanks to there not being an account wide score, but they'll level up due to winning a lot and eventually leave the beginner brackets.

A hidden ELO system would have worked wonders. If your initial PvP experience in this game is getting hopelessly stomped, you won't stay. The initial impression is all that counts these days - just check out all the other trainwrecks like Evolve, or Wildstar that hyped everyone up and failed to deliver on their promise. None of them got a second chance. And Evolve even had an allright matchmaking.

i 100% agree with this. I just recently got destroyed 4 matches in a row and it sucked, i know a large amount of people who are having the same problem and they're selling the game sadly.

My favorite is 4v4, 6 players & then it puts 4 players on one team & the other team gets 2 bots. Seems fair...I would imagine match making is nonexistent.
