Which is why you feint, even if your opponent is smart enough to cancel his failed parry you can GB them.Originally Posted by YOGZULA Go to original post
This is more a failing of the current system favouring defence as an avenue for offense than it is of the Orochi. The Orochi himself is actually a very good class with some nice tools who is fun to play, it's just that parries are overly punishing/easy to do, which pushes characters like Warlord and Conqueror to the front because they can bypass it.
How is this a 50/50 when Orochi has a sidestep attack that beats both?Originally Posted by The_Mensan Go to original post
Not to mention, if he guesses you're going to go for a GB at any point, he can breeze right through it just by mashing lights.
She freaking is. Forget her not performing too well. She still is a ton of fun and that is why she is my main. I couldn't care less how bad she performs. She simply is fun.Originally Posted by We_Wuz_Kongz Go to original post
Orochi is all anyone plays, and I think there's a reason for that. Orochi is very versatile with high agility, good range, fast attacks, and good damage. Imo, it's probably the strongest character in the game right now.
I've been trying to fight Orochis with the Conqueror (I haven't sought them out, but Orochi is all anyone plays....), and I've found it very difficult. Admittedly, I think I'm a subaverage player because it doesn't matter who I fight, I generally struggle to win (I think I also have latency issues because strange things always happen). The most frustrating thing for me, is that the Orochi's guard break is superior to the Conqueror. What I mean by that is, if we both GB at the same time, and we hit each other at the same time, the Orochi will win the engagement everytime. It's happened like 10 times in my last few matches or so. Shouldn't simultaneous GBs result in a draw where both players are pushed back? If not, shouldn't the 300 lb guy with a big *** shield win out against a shove from a 150 lb guy.
GBs and parries are everybody's kryptonite.Originally Posted by BetterDenYouX Go to original post
I main Orochi and I can say that the combos of unblockable and stuns, poison kills Orochi faster in solo and duel. I’m not sure if it also dmg stamina but I feel like im out of stamina just trying to dodge or deflect that stuff. They need to make unblockables cost more stamina. Like 60% of your total. As it is not its way to cheap.
I feel Orochi can't keep up with other classes especially the other assassin classes when fighting a player on the same level. In throws(Captains),speed and combo(assassins), and attack and defense Orochi doesn’t excel very much in any area The class isn’t even a jack of all trades... Orochi was all about tricking and countering a player. Once a player knows Orochi tricks then the playing field is leveled a lot.Orochi doesn’t have bleed attacks, a heavy shield, it cant drag you half across the screen to push you off. There’s no unblockable that can be spam or initiated at will. (the deflect can be missed as it takes long to charge). The Zephyr slash mostly attacks from the left so nothing new there. The class isn’t all that in 1v1 /2v2. Out of the Samurai classes I see Orochi most maybe because its fun and cool looking but when winning I see other classes outperform more.
BTW, side step attack can be blocked. Usually a player does this attack after their opponent attacks, so its more like a counter attack without deflecting. As long as your guard is up in the direction of the attack you won’t be harm. However as I stated ,if you attack and he does the side step then you will be harm as there is a brief moment to restart you guard stance after an attack.
Unfortunately, it doesn't. That's actually one of the fixes I proposed. The dodge attack is NOT instantaneous unfortunately. Even if you press the dodge and attack buttons at the same time, the attack count as a dodge for the first few frames (a pretty long window actually). If they made it instantaneous, Orochi can be mid tier or even high tier because he will be able to avoid 50/50s (even though he still can't dish them out).Originally Posted by SeeNoWeevil Go to original post
A GB will always catch a dodge attack at the beginning, only after he draws the sword and start swinging, that's when he's invincible to GB.
