Hey Warriors!

Just some tips on how I believe you can step up your game (lol) in For Honor. I'm by no mean a pro; I'm just a guy that loves to play the game and want people to enjoy the game with me.

  • Do NOT button smash.
  • Be calm and figure out your attack and defense pattern.
  • Pay close attention on your opponent's defense.
  • Watch your surroundings. Cheap players will try to lure you to cliffs or ledges to throw you and get a quick win. (that's what happens when you're too good lol)
  • Don't go nuts when you're opponent is in Revenge Mode; they have attack/defense/stamina advantage. Don't try to compete to see who lands the hit first.
  • To Shield Break Counter, wait till your opponent's Shield Break connects. It's not as soon as you see the red shield pop up, trust me, it's as soon as the Shield Break attack connects; that's when you counter. Don't try to button smash because you won't counter. Do try to master it with a friend or in Practice Mode.
  • Don't spam the same combo, you'll be predictable and will be parried.
  • When you are in revenge mode, try to throw your area attack in the mix (light+heavy attack)
  • Do the Advance Practice and Duel Practice. There's no shame in practicing against an AI, (They're pretty OP lol) so they'll give you a challenge.
  • Every Hero has some moves that connects with each other, (ex. Warden's Shield Break+heavy side attack). Master them.
  • If you can't seem to land a hit because your opponent's is playing a good defense, try Attack Canceling. Mix it up.
  • In Dominion Mode, don't try to go on a killing spree. Communicate with your team via Quick Chat. Be a team player.
  • Time your attacks when helping out in a fight, though. You may hit and disrupt your teammate, and may get them killed. Again, be a team player.
  • Don't leave the match when losing; you may be the one who can turn the tide. The only penalty for leaving or rage quitting a match is you not getting experience and loot.
  • Have a good time, play honorably, and greet each and respect each other with a 'GG' or a 'Good Fight!'. Some players will respect that and will give you an honorable fight... hopefully.



Disclaimer: I'm aware that the game is not balance and there are exploits with some heroes that'll make some fights unfair and unenjoyable. I know there are ganker and people that will run away when you're an unstoppable killing machine. Please, not to be like them. Just show them that you can beat them by playing the game as intended and using your own play style. Trust me, there is no better joy than to see them rage quit because their cheap exploits didn't work against you.
