Tips for fighting a nobushi in a duel

I play mostly as a Warden but am struggling to get past people who are decent with the nobushi character.

Just wondered if anyone has had much success against them? If so what do you look to do in a fight.

    Cheers

Get used to dodging to the side after getting hit by anything to avoid the Kick. This is important. They cant rly damage you a whole lot if they dont get the combo.

Only use Zone-attack to attack them, its the only thing that has enough range reliably, maybe a top-light if you're close.

Other than that mix it up between spamming SB and going for parries. After you parry, you need to quickly change your stance to TOP, DURING the parry-animation, then you can land a free top-heavy. If you change your stance to late, its going to take to long for your character to perform the attack. You will see what I mean when you mess up vs when you do it right. Do NOT go for GBs after a parry, they are too far away.

Cheers for that. Figured I am being to passive and need to pick my moment to close the distance. Agreed I need to parry to disrupt their flow (this is what is killing me most of the time).

Would you say dodge into SB would be ideal way to setup my attack whilst avoiding theirs?

The first, and most important, thing is you have to be able to block all of their light attacks, if you can't do that then you're simply not good enough at the game yet and should make a custom 1v1 game with a lvl 3 nobushi bot and practice just blocking. Don't bother trying to parry the lights (unless you're a parry-god), it's risky and not really worth it in my opinion.

Once you can block everything comfortably, advance on them while blocking everything and hit them with the zone attack and/or overhead light whenever you get the chance.
Keep in mind they can only do the kick after a guard break, after a light attack that doesn't get blocked, after a heavy attack or from the hidden stance. If you block a light attack they can't do the kick after it, but they CAN do it after a heavy even if you block it. In my experience they usually go for it after a heavy, so either make sure to parry all heavies (not too difficult) or be ready to dodge the kick after they do a heavy (even if you block or dodge it). Dodging a kick gives you a free hit on them and is very nice.

Also shoulder bash works great against them since their dodge is pretty crap, but don't just stand there charging it, that's too predictable and easy to dodge, hit them with the overhead light and then shoulder bash spam with no shame.

Yes think I need to practice against the AI. Imagine they will start to sweat as one continues to push forward whilst dealing with their attacks. Cheers
