Getting jumped and how to deal with it.

Now For Honor has been out for quite some time now and every now and then when we all play elimination there will be that one guy who complains about being jumped.

A few disclaimers and my standpoint on the situation

    1. This is not duel nor brawl and you should go to those game mode if you feel like it's "unfair."
    2. I do understand that the game is called "For Honor" but losing the match isn't going to bring me honor.
    3. Getting jumped sucks and even I hate it but there are ways around it.

Alright back on topic! So what most people fail to realized is that you can gain revenge mode fairly quickly while being jumped. Ever see those Conquerors and Warlords just bottle up into a little ball and then go all revenge crazy and win a 1vs4? Well that's what I'm going to explain and anyone can do it, some are just better at it than others !

This is covered in the advanced practice so I won't post up a video.
(You can get to Advanced Practice by going to the Main Menu>Play>How to Play>Advance Practice)

While targeting your primary target and suffering attacks from your secondary targets block to the side in which your secondary targets are located. That means if your primary target is in front of your face and your secondary target is to your right block right when the attack is coming. Now it does not matter if they are attacking left, right, or up. As long as you block to the side in which they are currently located you will block it.

BUT ROKURO THEY'RE GRABBING ME NOW !

Well my good friends! Here's some more tips. While getting jumped and trying to obtain Revenge Mode do not attack. I REPEAT DO NOT ATTACK UNLESS YOU KNOW YOU ARE SAFE. Focus purely on defense until you obtain Revenge Mode. The reason for this is obviously because if you attempt to attack then you can be hit while you are swinging your weapon. and with basic math I'm sure your one attack is not going to amount to the four guys that are trying to tear you a new hole.

BUT ROKURO IF I DON'T ATTACK WHAT DO I DO NOW??

That's easy, focus on counter breaking their guard breaks. Now the timing on this has to be impeccable because if you get it wrong you can also suffer an attack and your break will not go through. Although it does go and follow people who attempt to dodge.

I FINALLY GOT REVENGE MODE! AHAHAHAHAHA!! ...Oh... but now what?

Good job, mighty warrior! Well now that you got your shield, extra damage, and infinite stamina you can finally wreak havoc. If they are heavily piled on you at the moment then do a Zone Attack, usually Zone attacks take about half your stamina but with infinite stamina I like to spam it a bit to make some room for me to breath. If they are spread out a bit then attempt to quickly kill one of the targets. Do note that if your revenge does not last long enough or you do not kill all of them within that duration then they might be revived afterwards if you don't execute them. Execution animations tend to vary in time but use the quickest one so that even if you are hit you'll still kill them permanently.

(While attacking you gain invincible frames in which you cannot be staggered but can be hurt. That means people people who can attack fast can ignore more staggers compared to those who attack slower. I personally feel like the damage from light attacks do just as much as heavies so I stick to light.)

I GOT REVENGE MODE BUT I STILL COULDN'T KILL THEM IN TIME!

This could be the results of varies reasons but here are some ways that could help improve that. Gear, and I can't stress this enough. Once you prestige a few times and finally get some rare or higher gear focus on things that help. For example I main Peacekeeper and Orochi so my main goal is to quickly throw out as much damage as possibly once I get Revenge mode.

These are just my opinions but I like to focus on [Attack Damage] with normal stamina, [Revenge Attack], and [Revenge gained by blocking].

With that maxed out as much as possible you will hit like a truck from hell.

Well that's about it but if you have questions or if I did not explain it well enough then you can ask me in game or post a message here.

The problem is that this just won't work against decent players. You simply can't go offensive against multiple enemies, regardless of revenge.

There are other ways to deal with that situation but that all depends on the hero you're playing. For example when I play Peacekeeper I like to gain as much Revenge as possible then run away until only one person is following me( Well until the distance is big enough to kill them in between.) Once there is only one person I like to turn around and jump on that person with a lunge. If another enemy is coming time your Revenge mode to activate as soon as the attack is about to hit. This will knock them down no matter what and allow you to kill one quickly and still have enough Revenge to take on a few more.

Loved the guide, thanks for that!

Also, if you wanna learn to play 1on2, find two good mates, go to custom game, 99 rounds, no time limit, possibly no gear score, choose a nice map (one with some nice environmentals), and let them beat the crap out of you. Mine had a blast doing it while I had one of the most intense battles of my For Honor career. After 24:2 or something we stopped, but man, you should have seen those 2...

Thanks for commenting! It's always great to see people reply and I do hope this guide gets more notice so that community will grow in skill. I would love to find more friends to practice with. So far I've done the same with one friend and we reached up to 400 rounds of just practicing parry and deflect.
