Is there a benefit to the open beta?

I'm curious, as I've pre-ordered the game, so I know that I'll be playing it. Seen the streams, watched gameplay, have long ArmA2 experience so I know what I'm getting into.

But by downloading the beta (which is a hefty download), and currently I'm on a limited bandwidth, by getting the beta and playing it, would I have to redownload it again on march 7th? My actual game progress I assume will be wiped - so would I gain anything in participating?

I get the open beta is for giving back feedback and all, but I would have none to very little to give (much like the majority of the open beta crowd), and besides I'll also be playing For Honor to the side.

You can earn a set of 3 bonus missions by participating in the beta, and then playing in the full game by march 31st, which you obviously will since you pre-ordered. That would be the only reason you might consider.

Yeah it's called Try_Before_You_Buy, best type of benefit there is, it's like test driving a new car.
when your done there is a 50% chance you will buy the car or in this case the game.

There's also the added benefit for people who never played the Closed Beta, they finally get a chance to try the game before they decide to buy it or not.
