    STOP the QQing SALT!

I am by no means a good player, im actually quite terrible. but between the beta's and the release i have accumulated the total combined rep of 4. (meaning i have reached rep 1 4 times)
my win rate in the closed beta after reaching rep 1 was 80%
my win rate in the open beta saw a closing of 85% after reaching rep 1
and in the release of the game upon reaching rep 1 with two characters my win rate was at 94%

I will repeat, i am by no means a good player i just took a greater understanding of the mechanics and matchups quicker than most. in the coming months my win rate will settle down to a more moderate level but my point it the following:

instead of complaining about balance or cheesy tactics you need to gitgud. and i dont mean this as an offence, you literally need to practice as this is a fighting game. during the betas i had spent about 40 hours playing the game, and without the word of a lie another 40 hours between down time watching for honor videos and tutorials. Heck just doing the advanced training boosted my abilities leaps and bounds.
Jump into a level 3 bot match and try to kill the bot 3 times before dying, once you can achieve that then you will have no trouble destroying 80% of the player-base i am usually that guy that makes fun of people that play against A.I opponents because "you beat a computer pre-programmed? well done, your at a 5th grade mental capacity..". however the level 3 bots in this game are no joke, they would literally crush everyone minus the top 10% of players that take the time to learn the game. I got my *** handed to me but after fighting a mirror matcup for 3-4 rounds i learnt my characters strengths and weaknesses and once again ascended to a new level of play.

Bear in mind though, playing against the A.I is great but can be misleading, the P2P system makes it difficult, example i can block an A.I level 3 bot all day long, and counter GB flawlessly but some matches against human players it just feels impossible. the lag really does ruin some games, but you have to adapt.

In summry you will only ever be as good at this game as your mind allows, if you start to think its unblanced, cheesy, impossible to counter than you will lose. you need to BELEIVE in yourself!!!

but seriously, start thinking positivly and you will win more. practice and you will see results.

Yeah this is just another side of the QQing. Your opinion would be right if this game is perfectly balanced but it's not. I know a lot of people complain too much but yours also sound like we can't complain at all and have to accept what ever the decree by the devs as the commandment.

you learn nothing if you fight against a pro which one just beat the **** out of you and kill you in 5 seconds, such unfair fights are just frustrating, nothing else...

There are 1 or 2 valid complaints, but the way most people go about it sounds like they're 10 years old and just lost 15 games in a row so jumped onto the internet to scream OMG NERF EVERYONE THAT I JUST BEAT ME THEY ARE SO OP. Instead of demanding nerfs (you honestly think Unisoft want the opinion of someone that sounds like a tilting 10 year old?), ask what possible counters there are or the best ways to fight whoever it is you think is OP, in almost every situation there are way you can play to even the fight.

some people seem to be completely missing the point here.

In order to have any right to complain about balance, nerfs being required, buffs needed you have to understand the game. Someone that is constantly getting shoved off cliffs, killed in 5 seconds, cannot dodge / parry an unblock-able attack does not understand the game to its fullest potential.
as stated, i am by no means a great player and i have a lot to learn, and yet still i have managed to scrape through with a 94% win rate over 20 hours of game-play.

The above indicates to me that the people that are complaining about their losses, are losing a lot. from this i understand its a fairly wide assumption but without trying to insult you (the readers) feelings and being 100% factual based upon my experience there is at least a 90% chance if i fought you in a duel i would beat you. This isnt me saying that i am a better player mechanically, or i somehow have ''more skill'' than anyone else it is just a fact. over 90% of my 250 odd games i have won, and if i (a self proclaimed average player) can receive such a high success percentage then everyone that complains on the forums about nerfs and balance is obviously doing something different than myself.

With all that said, what is it that i do differently than most? i do not know. What i do know is:

I am competent at fighting level 3 bots consistently with little effort.

I have studied hours upon hours of YouTube videos, tutorials, champion guides, champion roles, how-to's even if i have spent (and this is an example so please do not take this literally) 300 hours playing a specific hero if a new video shows up in my daily search featuring a guide i will watch it. Despite it being the 20th video on the exact same topic i will watch it so it is ingrained into my skull how to perform a basic parry.

I have studied my opponents every round, always adjusting noticing combos that are popular with each character throughout the day. (you would be surprised how many people adopt the same habits day-to-day after fighting the current active community. ) Example: one day wardens are all heavily using GB and the next day the craze seems to be a spam of lights.

One night i spent 4 hours playing against a level 3 bot in practice mode doing nothing but walking towards the bot, stalking him pushing into his face and practicing to see how long i could survive exclusively blocking and countering guard breaks.
Another night i spent about half an hour doing the same thing but trying to parry everything the bots threw at me (only half an hour because parrying is hard xD )

when i lose a game to what seems like lag, or luck i save the match recording to review my timings, combat choices or to simply find out if the red bandit hijacked my opponents internet connection again.

So you see, i have put a lot into making sure i am equipped with the knowledge to win. And the most important point of this entire topic is going to shock, annoy and possibly downright depress a lot of people:

This game is not about the duels. This game is being balanced for 4v4 Dominion matches as a priority. 1v1 Duel match-ups with 0 gear scores will never be balanced perfectly because that is not ubisofts core vision for this game.
and within those matches ARE gear scores, which will drastically change how each opponent will be balanced.

I will end this narrative with one final comment about the combat system and how 'X 'character is OP because 'Y' character cant do anything because of 'Z' reason:

this game is fundamentally a rock paper scissors match as most would know at higher levels of play. you need to find out which of these three your opponent is going to throw, and counter it. or at least mitigate it. One strategy to this is to trick your opponent into thinking your going to throw rock when your really feinting into scissors.
Another valid strategy is to use such a large rock, that even if your opponent hard counters you with scissors you have enough rock to smash through it anyway.

    Drazard.

You do realize this is supposed to be a game, not a job right ?
If playing this game in a way that is not frustrating (cannot counter guardbreak for instance) demands hours and hours of work not to be f*cked up in one guardbreak when you play, then this game will have very few players.

I kind of agree with your point of view, but I have to ask, 94% win rate? What game mode do you play?
You can be as good as you want, but unless you are playing only 1vs1 there are so many random elements in 4v4 game modes that whatever you do or howewer good you are, there will be MANY games where you can only lose. 94% win rate... I don't think so
