    Duel Mode is TOO LONELY

I don't want to be secluded in a match with one random stranger and I don't want to play against just one friend at a time. Take a hint from the Dark Souls community and how they've structured their Fight Nights over the years. Design a small arena-type level with NO ENVIRONMENTAL HAZARDS. Spawn two players in the sand and everyone else in the stands, when a match concludes the next player in the queue enters the circle and the loser respawns in the stands. Repeat until Ragnarok. Now Honorable players have a mode to call home and we can bask in the each other's glory.

    Wow!

That would actually be pretty cool, I'd check that out.

I've personally found the people I've dueled to be quite nice, generally. Which is a nice change from the nonsense I read in the dominion chat.

I've never played dark souls but you've accurately described a king of the hill type game and I vote yes

    New Game Mode!

I literal just made a thread about how there needs to be a tournament/arena game mode. The only thing I would say is that hazards still need to be in place, the only slight weakness to assassins is the fact that they suck at knocking people of the edge and alot of heavier classes rely on that pressure even if they don't throw you off. Having your back to a cliff against a raider makes alot of people spam guard break which can be punished by light attack chains.

Thanks for the positive feedback. I'm sure there may be issues that I don't foresee, depending on the size of the arena and lack of environmental hazards the mode may benefit some characters more than others. But I'll leave the balancing of such issues to the development team. Maybe hazards would be fine, if necessary, like the moon door in GoT (I think that's what it was called).

Also, I don't mean to imply that random players are dishonorable or mean, the few times I've duel it's been pretty much the opposite. I just have little interest in the mode since it feels so dang lonely. And other modes are just more dynamic. It could be really fun watching others fight, one person (for lack of a better word) owning the ring, noticing weakness in the champion's defense and attempting to capitalize on them when it's your chance to fight.

A tournament like you describe sounds really cool and I suddenly can't imagine the game without it. Knights fought in similar contests, a game like this, featuring knights, needs tournaments!

Or maybe have more damaging hazards like the fires. I really like the fires! I wish the spikes acted like that instead of a one-hit kill. For some reason I can take multiple overheads from a longsword, but bumping into a wall with spikes is instantly fatal :/

Even worse when you're tossed into the far edge of a set of wall spikes, your torso missing them entirely and only your bicep is pierced. But anyways, Fires and non-fatal hazards are a great idea. I really like fires too! Well, enemies on fire.

On the topic of alternate hazards:

Ice patches where being thrown onto them would cause a fall could be fun as well

And maybe make it so dodging on ice makes you fall. Just something to consider to spice things up.

These are brilliant. Brilliant! You should be charging Ubisoft for this stuff, not posting it freely on a public forum. It will be a crying shame if the dev team never sees this thread.

What does it involve? Can you provide a link to a description or further info? I require more than just duel mode with brackets, and after "single-player will be a full experience" I won't quickly trust that this previously announced tournament includes the depth or immersion we deserve. Thanks for your reply, but I'm still going to champion this arena mode. FACE ME, UBISOFT!
