I came across this video which I thought was pretty informative. While I will admit that the bullet penetration was inconsistent in my experience, I am hopeful it will be ironed out in the OB and full game. Pretty informative overall.

I can't really blame the Devs for that, not that they could make a much needed effort but most people are ok with just the cosmetic customization like we have seen and since they are going by what the market bears and have zero competition then they believe nobody cares if customization makes or breaks immersion or whether the game will be affected. Also, we have gotten shot down, even by those that considered themselves GR veterans that they game is fun enough as it is so there is that working against those who would pay money for having some sort of an effect with customization.
Competition and hard criticism can only make you better but it appears this is not the case in gaming.
I remember about 2 years ago I made the same question and they all told me that it was going to have an effect on the gameplay... oh well, perhaps we see than on GRW2
Nobody told you that.Originally Posted by GiveMeTactical Go to original post

Granted...
This has become a habit. They talk about this and that, show the community a few honestly meaningless snippets, and leave us to draw our own conclusions deliberately to mislead about features that are simply not in game.
They did the same when talking about the "living, breathing world" and how this one guard went to sleep at night, but that was all it really was. Some two-bit AI script that has one guard stroll off post to lay in a bed for a few hours.
They talked about how you could customize your Ghost as you saw fit. If you "needed a ghillie suit" you were free to throw one on, even though the reality was that you never needed one because it never had any effect. There is a lot of "player freedom" that's in this game, and the vast majority of it means virtually nothing at all. The freedom to choose between one gun over the next is empty if neither gun has an actual difference. Bright red T-shirts are just the same as solid white full-body armour in the snowy mountains. So where's the tactical freedom?
Where's even the point?
