Nice bit of snooping there Ceiro - only thing is - it doesn't confirm PvP will appear in Wildlands, it just confirms that there is code in there that shows they were working on it at one time.

Kind of like the original Ghost Recon, Jester (modder), found helicopter assets in the files, but Ghost Recon did not have helicopters at launch - you can imagine the hysteria that caused lol.

So it's still a waiting game to see if PvP will be developed, or lie dormant in some xml code.

Nice bit of detective work though!

References found in game files aren't always evidence something is going to be implemented or added.. lets hope Nice work though

Two weeks from release and nothing about pvp....it's safe to say it wont be in grw.
And have you heard about any game with a succesful and active online communit that released multiplayer a few months after release?...nope...not a single one
A few games pop up..gta v being by far the most succesful...

Although i do agree its unusual. most big brand names stay active for years MP community wise.. atleast on console.

For PvP to work really well, its development must run in parallel with the single player/coop mode. This ensures that the PvP component feels like a natural extension to the main game, rather than a tacked on mode to boost sales.

For example, Star Wars Battlefront from a design perspective is meant to be a multiplayer game. The Skirmish mode was subsequently added due to the fans' request for a solo experience. But what happened after that? To this day, the DLC maps cannot be played in solo mode and the team has shifted development to this year's installment.

So the question is, will any PvP add-on to GRW do justice to meet the high expectations of players who want this feature, that they are willing to pay for the base game (single and coop) just to able to play PvP? Even the type of PvP modes are just a speculation at this point.

So for those who are championing for PvP, it would be best to temper your expectations. Cos' it's not just a simple matter of adding lines of code to make it work.

    This guy gets it.

I'm not really a PVP guy so it doesn't bother me with GRW, but I was super bummed at the amount of PVE content in Rainbow Six: Siege. I do sympathize with the PVP players looking forward to this game..

Copper nailed it. If the mode is tacked on it really is a bit lackluster and entirely not worth the time. The Terrorist Hunt mode in Siege is exactly this. A short afterthought to the multiplayer game and it shows. The operators often have abilities that only work in MP and the balancing is done almost completely to cater to the Pro League. If Solo/Coop/PVP aren't developed in tandem then it just doesn't work.

I should state that I have almost 400 hours in TH in Siege, but that's only because I have good friends to play with on the regular. Without that I would have easily dropped off after 50 or so.

That was how Kojima Productions worked. It's not the de-facto standard across the entire video game industry. If that was the case, then CoD Infinite Warfare won't be set in outer space.

I have doubts PvP will be available at launch. But I have always thought that if Ghost Recon really wanted to build some hype and publicity right before launch, announce PvP with some incredible gameplay footage. Micdrop.

If the devs decide to include PvP, but it doesn't meet the expectations of the PvP community. Please don't bash the game again.

They really tried, but what the PvP community wants may not be reasonable.

Beautifully said, and especially that last part -- it takes a phenomenal amount of time/effort to make a good mode/experience.
