    Advantages of Deflect over Parry?

Back in the technical test, Deflect was set to just the left stick. (it was way too over powered.) With the recent changes though it's really not even used that much compared to Parry. Considering that Parry will grant you an auto heavy or "Lightning strikes twice" double overhead light swing. The Deflect can give you a Windgust or a punishable Hurricane Blast.

Also, it seems that Deflects are WAY harder to pull off than the basic parry. What are your guys opinion about this?

agree, deflect timing right now is incredibly short (especially when playing as berzerker...i don't know the reason behind this anyway). Also, you can't feint dash itself which why there are hardly any people that utilize deflect and just went to parry fishing instead.

Given that the top light combo and Wind Gust will give you basically the same amount of damage, there's no real reason to opt for Deflect with its tighter window than Parry. That said I tend to miss late on both when I get them wrong so parry is safer for me because if I Parry too late I still get a block, whereas if I Deflect too late I get hit, but for players who tend to use both too early when they miss the timing then Deflect will be safer as they can dodge.

Out of the the 3 assassins Berserker is really only one with a good guaranteed follow up (free GB) compared to the follow up they get from a parry. Based on what people are saying about the unbreakable defence meta in high level play though the problem might actually be that parry is just too strong in general right now.

Ah. if Parry did get nerfed. I'd start thinking of situations i'd want to deflect instead of parry.

    Thanks!

According to the video in this thread:

    http://forums.ubi.com/showthread.php...amurai-classes

You actually get 7 more damage from the Parry > 2 top lights (32), than you do from Deflect > Wind Gust (25).

Use parry to cover one direction and deflect to cover another (guard top and dodge into zone attacks)

Deflect has the advantage of letting you dodge an attack if you screw up the timing. Missing a parry almost guarantees you'll get hit.
