And wait for their team to jump the both of us? No thanks, I'll help you kill them so we can get on to the next objective.

    I play a PK.
    I play to win Dominion.
I don't care about takedown scores or points.
I won't sit around and wait for you to get the kill and risk their team mates showing up which would could lessen our chances of winning.

Dominion is a group/team pvp game.

I'm seeing a lot of complaint from those that seem to not understand the mechanics of this game. Also, it's not been a secret that this was always a factor from closed Alpha, open Beta, and game release. Yes, you don't get as much in-game renown and sure, you don't unlock your feats as soon as you could. Complaining that you didn't get the life from an execution, if it's dominion, would literally be the worst thing for anyone to complain about since you can stand on A or C caps and have life regen.

I can't say that I see a valid argument in this case when talking about team based game play. In any of the team games, your team winning nets you more xp and more steel at the end of matches. Also, you get credit for the take down even if another player takes it. So the only time this is effecting someone for Orders is if the order is specific to executions. Oh geez, because that's so super common. Sure, there are always gonna be players that troll the system, but if they're in it to win it, stop complaining about your lost kill. If you want the honor of 1v1, win-lose-draw without interruption, I agree that duels are the way to go. If you don't want to play as a team and win, team based gameplay is not for you and perhaps neither is this game.

Oh! If you think players are the only ones that do this, do some player vs ai and watch as bots steal kills all the time. It's the mechanics of the game and if you don't like it, stop griping that it should be changed when it's existed since day 1 of the games inception.

This is a silly thread. This isn't a game that even has kills on the scoreboard. Everyone gets a takedown that was involved with the kill. 4v4 modes are chaotic, team modes where anything goes. It's actually surprising that you have time for a 1v1 at all in a 4v4, That is very rare in my experience. Even more rare, that 1v1 stays 1v1 until someone dies. To expect to have a perfect 1v1 duel in a 4v4 mode is misguided.

He's not complaining about people that are functionally helping their teammates, he's complaining about people that refuse to engage any opponent for themselves and instead avoid engagements by making their teammates do the work. This isn't about "1v1" codes of nonsense, it's about players dodging combat in favor quick stat padding.

And again, the difference between kill and assist does matter, but what matters more is the situation created by heroes (yes assassin classes are an exception in most cases) not interested in picking up a full engagement.

I'm talking 1 v 1 up till the moment they went red bar and suddenly he comes out of nowhere and takes the kill with a single heavy and runs away again.

It got so bad that at one point 2 of his teammates left RIGHT after he did it.

Not even complaining about 2 v 1 or 3 v 1 but if your teammate is literally seconds away from winning their fight don't be a scumbag and swoop in and take it.

    I mean come on.
why not playing duels then? All >1 modes are about team performance, not about your KDA

    Couple of things...

It's not kill stealing because both people get takedown credit. It does reduce renown.

So by some logic my choices are move on to another area or stand and watch? No way I am going to stand there and wait to see if you get the kill when there are other objectives. Let's assume you do win. Great. But is that 100% guaranteed? No. Someone else could come along and gank you or the other person may turn the tables. Either way, I have effectively hurt the team now at this point by not assisting earlier on.

The reason people aren't doing as much elimination and skirmish has nothing to do with this. Split the queue so people actually get what they want and you'll see a lot more people wanting to play elimination.

There really is no way in a pickup game of knowing if the people on your team are honor freaks or just playing for objectives and a quick win. I assume in any 4v4 that objectives override any duels going on. 4v4 chaos is awesome and imo there is no place there for duelling even within the first 30 seconds of elimination - cool to have a 1v1 but I'm never surprised when it evolves into a chase or a 2v1.

In brawls I am honourable until the other team is not then I do whatever is needed to try and win.

My favorite response ever. You don't play like I play so you need to leave...
