    Not Launching/Missing Files

So first I was having the issue where the For Honor splash screen would appear for a few seconds, then disappear, and the game would just run in the background (in task-manager) without actually launching. Reached out to Ubisoft support and 3 days later have received nothing but silence. I tried a ton of different suggested fixes, but in the end, the only thing that worked was the disable sound engine method that a bunch of forums had mentioned. So finally the game launched, but, without any sound. However, the next time I went to launch the game I got a new error. The splash screen now appears for a few seconds then the following error message appears, "Unable to start the game. Please check that your game has been installed correctly. If the problem persists please contact Ubisoft Support. Have you moved your game or do you still have the original game files? If so select the folder where the game is located." After locating the game folder and uplay telling me the files have been verified, I get the same message. I have tried reinstalling the game, validating the files, and uninstalling and reinstalling uplay...nothing has worked, I get the same message. What I don't understand is how this game works flawlessly on my friend's alienware alpha, but is giving me all these issues an my pc. Any help would be awesome and thanks in advance.

Hello! Please try running Uplay as an administrator and then launch the game. Let us know if this helps. Is the game installed on C, and is Uplay also installed on that drive? If not, would it be possible for you to try this as well? Thank you!

Thanks for the reply. I have tried running Uplay as administrator. Also tried running For Honor application (located in Ubisoft>Ubisoft game launcher>games>ForHonor) as administrator. Even tried running eac application (in the same folder) as administrator. None of those made a difference. Yes, both For Honor and Uplay are installed on the C drive, as that is the only drive I have.

I have this problem as well, as do many others. Support seems to be copy pasting the same "solution" (which don't work for anybody having these issues). Really disappointed in Ubisoft releasing a game that won't even launch for so many people.

here are some of the threads:

    http://forums.ubi.com/showthread.php...-launch-Forums ( from the 11.10.2016)

    http://forums.ubi.com/showthread.php...not-start-game

    and more of the same

alll of them have the same error code in the log , which is : inject_impl.cpp (130) Getting thread context failed. System error code is 5

Try verifying the files, when it fails to do so due to missing filex it should ask you to "reapir" maybe this will install/fix the corrupted files.

    Hello all,

If you are affected by this issue, i would be very interested in taking a look at your Uplay logs so we can try to identify the cause. The link below includes instructions of how to find your logs and how to send them to us.
