I hate to be this guy, but your bots blatantly cheat.

I've got 16 videos to look through with different instances of the bots getting away with stuff that literally does not work in PvP. You might be wondering why I care. Well, when I get sick of playing against people who are going to gank and spam easy environment kills I jump in a bot match to practice and get away from all the crap. Nothing is worse than going from losing 4 matches to teams of envrio-griefers only to leave and get spanked by rigged bots.

    Issues I've had:
The biggest issue I've got with the bots right now is that they can activate revenge mode during animations where a human cannot. On multiple occasions, I've had a bot "dead" from a heavy with the execution prompts on my screen only to have them activate revenge, stop their own death, knock me on the ground because my pre-execute animation counts as a parryable attack, and then get one shotted because revenge. Then can activate revenge during falls, they can activate it during knockback, and sometimes even during a special animation (raider tackle, shugoki squeeze) which again is NOT POSSIBLE in PvP I've tried many times.

Number two. Your bots can magically dodge feats. Not the AoE feats like bombs, but the single hit feats like the bow and thrown weapons. Maybe it's not all thrown weapons, but I main valkyrie and I know that in PvP a bear trap is a guaranteed setup for a javelin throw. I have thrown about 2 dozen javelins that went straight through the bots who were caught in my bear traps. I've also thrown one at a bot knocked on the ground and had it pass through with no damage.

Why do the bots get gear score? Okay... so I played the beta and understand the basics of the game... big deal... but when I switch to a reputation 0 level 1 class with no gear why do the bots get high-max level gear? How do I know they have high level gear? Because NO CLASS gets revenge from blocking 2 hits without gear. I try to learn a new class and I can't because you put me up against level 3 bots with high gear score because I'm an "experienced player". Well my experience doesn't mean anything when switching from an offensive class like peacekeeper to a defensive class like warlord, cause they're INCREDIBLY different playstyles.

Speaking of bot levels, can you guys just admit that there's more than 3 difficulty levels? Sometimes my level 3 bots are great fighters but killable, other times they're superhuman, able to feint 4 or 5 moves in varying directions in a VERY short span. I've had orochi bot feint 4 times in less than two seconds into a guardbreak. I don't care who you are, the reaction time on that whole sequence is ridiculous to try and counter and barring extensive practice or superhuman finger speed it's inhuman. You guys should increase the bot level to 5 and pad it out in between, because it really doesn't seem like 3 is the cap, which brings me to my next point.

It seems like if you win, even if the bots are at level 3 (max level), the next match they'll be harder. If you win twice in a row, it's even more intense. I don't have a problem with this. My problem is that if you start getting whooped horribly for a few matches, the bots don't scale back even slightly. They keep their gear score and AI level and it seems like the only way to reset them is to not play bot matches for a while. I do enjoy the challenge of the terminator bots, but when I've lost 4 in a row it's clear that I'm outclassed and a scale back would be appreciated.

My last point I really don't expect you don't even consider addressing, but the bots very obviously read controller input, and that's just lazy programming and synthetic difficulty scaling. My favorite thing about the bots in super smash bros brawl (old game is old) is that they learned from they way you played the game. If you fought a max level bot it was like fighting a clone of yourself and it proved to be fun and challenging. The bots in this read controller input and it sucks bigtime. How do I know? Well when the bots go to heavy in a direction and I whiff a parry by hitting r2 too early, they cancel the attack on a dime, sometimes even after its "too late" to feint, and either parry me or block and guard break. I'm not mad that I get punished for whiffing parries, that's how it should be. I understand the mind games behind feinting and parry baiting. But when I push r2 literally a fraction of a second too early there's NO way a human player could cancel that move into something else. The only thing that should happen is I should eat the attack I just failed to parry. The bots are able to cancel even after a swing is started which is garbage because the way it works for humans is you can only cancel BEFORE a swing is started.

I don't know if these issues are related to server latency and the bots having perfect reaction as they're part of the program but it's all pretty annoying.

Like I said I have videos to look through and can post some evidence of anyone can tell me the best way to upload videos to here from my ps4.

Or just read this post and ignore it. I wouldn't be surprised, the playerbase on here is terrible atm.

Bots scale up? How do you get them to scale up? I have killed the level 3s in 1v1s over and over again and they are still as crappy as they were on launch day : /.

If I could get them into super human mode, I would be stoked. They are utter garbage and I thought that they just had bad AI or something. I didn't know that they could go super saiyan. Tell me sensei. How do I make the bots strong? : (

Not sure if honest, bating or bragging :fry:

The controller reading and last frame changing of the guard sucks. Its cheating. Bots should mimic players behavior not the one of number six/eight. The bots pull off things, that are impossible for humans. Not only are they perfectly blocking, no they dodge perfectly right and off course retaliate (deflect). They guard break you while running away from you ans their counter guard breaks come sometimes out of light attacks no hero can do this. They can gb you basically, whenever they want.

In dominion matches, it gets really hairy. What equipment do they have? A bot i can fight and beat in a duel, destroys me in a dominion match? Wtf?!? Suddenly, they deal more damage, run like Usain bolt or activate revenge mode after two (off course perfect) blocks.
Revenge mode is the next problem in bot matches. Every bot has revenge, in every fight. This time its not because they cheat, but because they block godlike. Not balanced at all.

The bots need work - maybe in both directions.

I pointed out the god-bot thing before, that it just reads your controller and counters perfectly and isn't really "playing" at that point. Might as well give them infinite health and one-hit kills too.

    Lightning bot strikes.

This guy could beat the flash. Are you f****g kidding me?

Its like: "Mhmm .. I can't decide how to end this noob (because I already abused the system, read his input and invisibility blocked a heavy, that would have beheaded me), so I use two styles at the same time!"

    Btw. local bot-match.

1)Don't need videos - anyone who has played knows these are facts.
2)Yup. total BS; I play bot matches to get familiar with characters before taking them into PvP -- can't count how many times i've seen them do things that players can't. This of course means that my testing is wasted against most classes. players can dodge feats -- but they have to move to do it. AI seems to have a toggle-able "it don't hit me" setting that completely wastes your effort; while this is most apparent with feats it also affects regular attacks occasionally (or something that should be animation staggered becomes randomly "unblockable" for the purposes of being hit).
3)This is more an issue with the way they have the queue system set up ATM, IMO. just because my rep 1 heavy regularly kills rep 3's and has a high k/d ratio doesn't mean that i have any clue what I'm doing when i play the other classes -- the only way they can reasonably fix this would be to change the queue system completely:

    either:
Select a range of rep, queue forms team with others who have units at same rep, select units (only from the rep range set), then party queue find a match to join... (this would be completely hell since it would mean you can't just P2P the whole experience)
    or, preferably:
Select a specific unit you want to play, queue system find a group of people are are playing similar rep characters and tries to avoid overlaps on character selection when setting the teams. Would lead to more varied battles and far more balanced team building.

    4)I agree.

Another little gripe of mine is how incredibly stupid it is that the game loses your team if the game bumps you out for any reason. The game is over? not enough players now so let's disband all the teams. player is using a controller while on PC? too bad - he has to use keyboard to get to the group invitation.

parrying and dodge countering everything is infinite health.. and i have seen them 1-shot a few times. More annoying when you're stuck fighting on a bridge and they decide it's a good idea to act like the normal enviro-spammers and just do nothing but grab and bait you into grabs for the perfect counter.
