I don't understand? I accept certain classes will be faster, and others will be heavier.. I've beaten orochis, and as an orochi main, i've lost my fair share.Originally Posted by Glaba24 Go to original post
I mean, I hate fighting a fast fighter, for the same reasons you do, except i've learned my own techniques, applied them for those fast fighters, and came out on top. There is a way to get past ALL classes, even the spammers.
To nerf a class simply cause that class destroys you, isn't enough weight, that's petition worthy imo, cause many of us would disagree with you.
You could say that about a lot of heroes. The valkyries are annoying and extremely hard to hit before they combo you, or fly after you like an eagle soaring out of the sky for its prey. what about the sugoki, whos bakcbreaker is THE op move of the game, yet no mention. Let's talk about the people who spam the guard breaks and then use that one unblockable jumping strike move from kensei? Which happens to be a pretty speedy AND strong attack, and can end anyone who doesnt know how to play, very quickly. I could go on.. I mean, maybe a couple classes do need a buff, but more classes would need a nerf, than a buff. I love the heroes atm, they're epic, so my solution, just buff the crappy heroes who rarely stand a chance, and I mean actually don't stand a chance, by their moveset, speed, toughness and strength, compared to all other heroes.Originally Posted by Mad4Gelo Go to original post
Every hero has pros and cons, some match ups aent as great as others, but you can still adapt to it, and win, as I have many times.
I mean it says it right there, orochis are agile counter attackers.. hmmm, that means they are agile so they can move around quickly, and a counter attacker side steps, parrys, etc..
You have the harrassers who literally harass you, its almost impossible to take them on close range, and swords swinging. you have to adapt... or the sugoki is a heavy hitter, heres an idea, try not to get caught or hit by a heavy hitter, even more so than a normal hitter, thats just common sense.
And got to love the thinly veiled "suggestions" of how we should add stamina drain to blocks and dodges - because we all know which class type that targets. Oh right, the PK and Orochi. I'm afraid I'm starting to get more and more hostile to those that call for nerfs rather than learn how to actually counter.
Your typical orochi player is very beatable, while he has the ability to spam, and roll dodge most attack, it does not make it impossible. I find it very easy to block his attacks and opponents may land 2 hits before my guard is up. i usually win the exchanges because His side attacks are VERY weak.and any overhead attack can be sidestepped easily. Well timed chains varying guards between strikes is something most people playing orochi cannot defend well against. I myself am a Kensei player, 1 rep lvl 8. I believe i have mastered his quick lunge attacks and sidesteps in order to counter most orochis (not to mention kill almost everyone). my win percentage is 75% atm.
i strictly 1v1 duel. occasionally 2v2. anything more than that like dominion or deathmatch i find myself routinely getting double or even tripled teamed. This game is not fun at all while outnumbered because without revenge its nearly impossible to win. I find the entire community are mostly toxic players atm. People get frustrated they cant win and resort to spamming guard breaks and unblockable charge attacks with bigger characters fishing for an insta-kill off a bridge or cliff. its far too easy to accomplish this, as even an unblocked power attack will cause a stumble to the death. It really diminishes from the game experience
HOWEVER,
in the hands of a truly skilled player orochi desperately needs some form of nerf. for one reason only. Deflections, His deflection ability allows him a unblock-able and undodgeable light attack. 100% will always hit.. also can vary into a heavy unblockable if you arent quick enough to dodge. This can be spammed easily against bigger weapon wielding opponents and even against the regular sized ones because it is very easy to do with practice. simply dodge into the direction of your opponents attack when you would block. even works against over heads and other unblockables.
Combining his deflection insta-hit, roll dodges, retreating stagger attack, and his unblockable instant 2 hit combination of the up down strikes, and his ability to chain his guard breaks orochi is a combination of very annoying game mechanics. but i consider them merely parlor tricks. if i lose to one it was my fault from being too aggressive or blocking like crap. THEY ARE BEATABLE
is orochi a broken character? i dont think so. His defense is simply awful and 2-3 heavy attacks from most characters will almost kill him. if i had to suggest a change it would probably be nerfing one of his abilities. probably the unblockable and undodgeable nature of his deflection counters. it really isn't fair used by a skilled player. at least make it barely blockable or dodgable. The combination of all his varied abilities is what makes it just a touch over powered. his retreating stagger slash can be done very quickly. and from either side.
i do agree with others tho, the wardens shoulder charge chain is absolutely ridiculous. Its range is extensive and it promises a heavy attack landing most of the time especially in tighter quarter maps. It does feel unfair most of the time. but careful distance keeping and dodges can make it fairly easy to chip away at wardens Plus they have they steadfast guard on over head attacks. that **** blocks unblockables. so quit complaining! The biggest problem the game has is people playing like scumbags(fishing for insta-kills), and rage quitting. i think when a player quits mid duel and you fight AI your reward is effected. i dont think ive ever recovered loot from finishing a match with a bot after someone quit.
For something that helps with alot of assassin characters, the game seems to accept keyboard inputs before the mouse inputs on p2p. I set my blocking directionals on top of my movement keys, and put the mouse sensativity down alot so i rarely accidentally change my block. It makes blocking orochi/pk/zerker attacks alot easier if your on kb+mouse, and you can still use the mouse if you need to do any sudden re-adjustment.Originally Posted by Glaba24 Go to original post
Other than that, not sure what else. Orochi is less 'op' and more 'not fun to play against'.
As for a guard break, bait them into getting a good parry off and you guarantee yourself one.
All of these threads are getting so ridiculous, just a bunch of people who haven't taken the time to learn game mechanics complaining that they can't beat every class using the same tactics (probably just light attack and GB).
To OP: Orochi is a counter attacker you're complaining that he counter attacks you, let him attack you first, keep your guard top to guard against his quick to lights, and parry his Zephyr and Storm Rushes which are easy to see coming when he's not using them to counter your attacks.
Deflections don't work against Unblockables, and you get two guaranteed top light attacks off a parry so Deflect isn't really that strong at all.Originally Posted by INRAGEDPlatypus Go to original post
