[PC] Matchmaking takes too long from certain regions | Forums

Hey folks,

I'm playing from Nigeria and matchmaking takes a very long time to find games, and most of the time it fails. I haven't been able to find any 2v2 Brawl matches, for example, and I've only been able to play 1 or 2 Elimination matches. However, if I use a US VPN, matchmaking finds games very quickly, but the lag is atrocious. Ultimately, it definitely looks like it's a regional problem.

I participated in the closed and open betas. Matchmaking was fine in the closed beta, but the long wait times started with the open beta and it's a shame to see this make it through to the final release.

Anyone else experiencing this?

We have a similar problem in South Africa. It would seem, even though the search filter eventually proclaims "searching all regions", it does in fact only search your local region. During the Beta there were more people playing, but once the game was released, fewer people actually went and bought it. So now you have to wait for other people from your local region to search the same game mode to get into a game.

This is all speculation by the why, but it feels true. I hope they get to sort it out, so that Africans can at least join up with Europe, seeing that the delay to there is about 180ms only vs the states being 230+.
