Only had this happen a few times but it's not like you get nothing if the opponent leaves. In my experience the bots that replace them in 1v1 are easy to beat so it's pretty much a free win and any takedowns, executions or whatever else still count towards the pvp orders.Originally Posted by Hattory__Hanzo Go to original post
I get why this might be annoying in 4v4 but the problem with trying to implement something to punish it is you'll likely get a DS3 situation where it punishes people who genuinely have poor internet or have their game crash.
Here is my suggestion:
Create a system where a players disconnections are recorded. I'm not counting internet disconnections, only "Exit To World Map" and ALT + F4 disconnections.
When a player reaches a certain threshold (eg; 4 disconnections within a 3 hour period) they are penalized by a leavers penalty.
This penalty could be a reduction in experience, loot or steel, and could wear off after a certain number of games are played without leaving. If the player continues to leave every game they play, they could be banned from playing for a short amount of time.
I think this would stop the majority of leavers who leave because they are going to lose a match.
If you punish people for disconnecting by taking away steel/xp, especially when Ubisoft charges real money for steal purchases, you are going to kill this game. This is an incredibly stupid move.
They need to fix connectivity and balance issues before worrying about the feelings of people who win matches after an opponent leaves or have to exit and re-group because someone dropped.
