I wanna talk about 2 things which connect to each other.
1. Please give serious, much more punishment to people who abandon matches. I see players above level 80, even 100(!). I'm sure it can doable by now, but then I saw how they achieve this. They play only winner matches. How? When such a player attacked by 2-3 peeps, they just hit "go to menu", quit match, and go to another queue. Or if team goes to lose, they do the same, etc. What the hekk?!??! In this case game freezes, and becomes unplayable or even goes to infinite to "re-configuring game session, synchronizing" (or what it is) state and many times I could only close For Honor by win task manager's end task command.
The bottom line is: give very heavy penalty to that persons who abandon games during action fights!!!! (I know that what if that player really need to go for some real life thing, I can understand that, but I'm sure that peeps wont go to fight then suddenly hit quit) Or you can do this with a counter. If player quit matches within a certain time-span for x times, they get heavy penalty.
2. Because of such a player behaviors, game getting more and more unplayable. Yes, your p2p connection system is crap, but these happenings get it much worst. What I wanna say here: I'm good with your p2p idea, and I know you can't deploy dedicated player servers in every country to make this smooth, it's impossible. I understand that, that's why you came up with p2p. It's ok. But your system is bugged like hell, even by its own it's a mess, not working well. And then comes here the problem I mentioned which get it worst.
SO GET THAT P2P SYSTEM WORK!!!!!!!! (hire better programmers if you cannot achieve that, we payed lot of money for you) And make much more serious penalty system too. That's it.

You get XP even if you lose. What the **** are you talking about? You get plenty of XP for staying in the game and nothing for leaving. You're making no sense. Yes, it sucks when a game DC's when you're winning. Yes it sucks getting stuck on a team with 3 bots. Yes it sucks finding a game where you've already lost 0-3 when you load in. Going to your menu and leaving a match should cost Steel. Alt-F4 after the match has begun should cost Steel. Not a lot! Just one match worth.
Disconnecting with an error code indicating that your machine stopped responding to For Honor's servers should begin to cost Steel after a short grace period; two 'accidental' disconnections in a row costs. One every half an hour doesn't.
Disconnections with error codes indicating that For Honor was unable to maintain a connection should continue to go unpunished.
Personally I dont think it's enough. Losing XP sure, but some are so focused on their match ratio it becomes a bigger deal.Originally Posted by Zakmuffin Go to original post
If there is a penalty like you can not join match of that type for 5 or 10 minutes or so it would be less frequent.
A game like PAragon has a very severe system for leaving matches and there are hardly any dropouts.
Also they have a rating system in which after the game you can report players for being inactive, dropping out etc. In that game I hardly ever see anyone drop during matches.
In For Honor it's almost every 2 or 3 matches. It's getting crazy.
I think you didn't consider what some peeps do...
I saw players (as I described) who DC immediately if they going to lose, for example when he/she gets 2-3 attackers. They don't want to even fall. It's not about losing your team, but even in a 1v1 situation. If they conflicts on a 2-3v1 they leave. I think all who are at level 80, 110 do this "schema".
So say now that heavier penalty is not justifiable. Also as I said, now the matchmaking system is bugged on its basic, and this player behavior makes it worse.
The guy who lefts the game and who plays only winning matches is punishing himself hardly. He doesn't learn how to play. He simply farms reputation exp which gives him nothing except fancy gear.
Meanwhile, players who stay in losing matches learn how to counter multiply opponent simultaneously, how to defend themselves if they have little health left, etc.
Soon the ranked matches and leaderboards will be introduced. Who do you think will be the top player in the ranked? The player who knows how to play, or the player, who farms exp a lot?![]()
