I recently noticed that on the Beta>Game changes it lists that countries around the Mediterranean Sea are now considered part of EU.
I am not sure if Saudi Arabia/Gulf region has been included in this change, but I do not believe so since that I've been playing the game since launch for at least 10-15 hours a day and almost every single game I've played was against an opponent from Saudi Arabia or the Gulf region. I also played both betas quite a lot and this was the case too.
This is really bad for us as the Gulf region is very small and the internet infrastructure is not that great, so connecting to a host that is actually from the same country or region, does not guarantee good connectivity. I truly believe if the team at Ubisoft look at the data they'll be able to see the high number of disconnects in the region.
I have been playing video games for over 20 years and ever since online gaming was a thing, players from the Gulf region were always considered part of EU, and would always connect to players from the EU. Every single developer does this, and in a variety of different genres, this is almost always the case.
I also believe that the high number of disconnects in the region is causing many players to give negative feedback about the game, which causes many players to not buy it. There are many passionate gamers here, and quite a big market, and even EA realized the huge potential and decided to invest in dedicated servers for BF1 for the middle east.
Also, since the region is so small, it takes forever to find a match with a decent "host." Finding a duel/skirmish is nearly impossible.
Please Ubisoft, review the data you have and if you find that making us part of EU can improve connectivity, then please do it.
