Tips for a Conquerer against a Nobushi?

I play Conquerer almost exclusively and I have a tough time with fast classes. I can usually handle my own against Orochi, good Peacekeepers and Berserkers give me a lot of stress, but I seemingly can't do anything against a Nobushi.

All my options come out too slowly to trick / mix up, and it seems Nobushi attacks cause a lot more hitstun than other classes? She can get in a conspicous number of attacks after guard breaking me.

    Anyone have tips?

other than "don't be a conquerer"

    Rep 3 Conq main here

Nobushi kind of feels like a hard counter to conqs. its very hard to get close. the one thing you have going for you is their small health pool. I usually win these fights with the wind up charge, using the superior block when you release as a parry and guaranteeing a big hit.

conqs are very reliant on guard breaks and its very hard to get one on a nobushi. shield bash feels suicidal because they can hidden stance mode to dodge or poke you whenever you try it. youre gonna have to learn to parry light attacks to get in on them. when they feint a heavy and your parry turns into a swing, rememebr you CAN feint with all guard mode, its just a huge stamina cost.

in general i would say stay back and charge your heavy. nobushis stay at range and will usually feel safe poking at your shield. and of course remember to ALWAYS dodge the kick attack after they connect a hit

Another R3 Conq main here. I have no problems with Nobushi whatsoever. As Tinparts suggested, use the Charged Heavy. Their long range poke game is shut down by Superior Block and gives us free damage. We're also really good at closing the gap with our dodge>shield rush. When you dodge your guard is up in the direction you move, so dodge into an attack and then punish with shield rush>light.

Conqueror is one of my best characters, she is so good! I would charge heavy, counter her attack with it and chain it into a shield bash and repeat, or if it's a good nobushi I'll confuse her by cancelling the heavy charge with fullblock into shieldbash and just smack her with a quick light. It's heavy on the stamina but it zones the zoner, so..

UUse your windup, that thing WRECKS me.

Also know even though their attacks are fast, they change guard direction at about 1/3 to 1/4 the rate you do, so if you watch them change guard, immediately attack a different direction, it will be nearly impossible for them to match it.

Use your All Guard if you are not sure, or need it in a panic. If they do the dash back strike, block up... for most of it block up.

IIf they dodge to the side and follow it with an attack, it will ALWAYS attack opposite the direction of the dodge, i.e. if I dodge right, the followup attack will ALWAYS be left.

I have a real hard time with Warlords who understand Nobushi mechanics. It also helps to play Nobushi a bit and learn their weaknesses.
