Parrying heavy attacks into LB's parry follow ups is a great way to die. The "overpowered" combo you mentioned actually doesn't do anything against anyone remotely good. You can actually dodge Long Arm if you're cornered, because dash has invulnerability frames and if they dodge it they get a free GB on you. If you're playing people that can't tech GBs 99% of the time I want some of those.
GTFO my thread if your just gonna link your own thread and **** talk. What is wrong with you? Go ahead and say your opinion and counter argue points made in THIS specific thread. If you are just going to go by opinion and not even consider him at least being mediocre, then you just need to reroll to a mew class buddy because the playstyle obviously is not for you.Originally Posted by Dizzy4213 Go to original post
I completely agree with the parry top heavy being bad. I never recommended its use, however I did say the light riposte was a move that hits 100% of the time, and this is the move I personally use.
Also, this guide is for newbs. A more advanced guide would be going into detail in many other areas. Did you know that the LB has a double light top attack? I have not seen ONE person mention this on the forums or even mention how to even execute it. Sometimes I doubt anyone truly understands what the LB can bring to the table until we go wait for the game to be out longer. could you imagine buffing a hero that is able to be played exetremely well? A month from now LB would be incredibly good in every aspect which would just label him as OP if he can do everything just as well as multiple classes. LB is all about the playstyle, he will never be a "run around and kill everything" type of hero. He will be a "punish your every move" good in duels and defending an area type of hero.
Don't advocate this guide as proof Lawbringer isn't bad if it doesn't work at high level play.
You're wrong, full-stop. Lawbringer is trash. He's mediocre, whose only purpose is to trash newbs that don't understand guardbreaks and dodges. Anyone competent will smash this.
A guide to the level of play you are asking someone to post is more of a how to play.Originally Posted by ThePollie Go to original post

I.E If your opponent(orochi) sidesteps right with a light attack you can parry > light attack > back step
This completely resets neutral play and you now have a life advantage.
To learn LB or any hero is just commitment and experience, LB just has a steeper curve my friend
Is anyone else getting tired of these "lawbringer is fine!" threads? cuz i'm getting tired of "Lawbringer is fine!" threads. Especially ones that OFFER NO ARGUMENTS.
Allright, let's take this from the top then, since you obviously can't be bothered to read all the OTHER threads where people have made well-reasoned, rational arguments for what is wrong with the lawbringer.
First off, your "introduction" simply tells people to learn the basic skills required for intermediate to high level skill. That much is a given, regardless of which class you play.
Now your "basics" basically fall apart from the start. First off, the light riposte is the only thing that will ever land. Impaling charge will be blocked, and practically remove your stamina bar. The overhead is very slow and will be either parried or dodged, and it's funny how no one even CONSIDERS the parry-zone attack chain.
Also, shove is not "free". Yes, you can chain into it from a block, but that still costs stamina, and you can't chain INTO anything from the shove against opponents who know how to handle the guardbreak. the other moves are too slow, and easily blocked and parried. Also, shove is inferior to EVERY OTHER similar mechanic in the game, with the single exception that it can be chained off a block.
I'd go on, but i've already pretty much invalidated everything you've said, and i'm getting really tired of explaining this to people. Go read one of the other threads made on the subject, there's plenty of them.
Allright, so, let me be blunt here for a moment. READING US THE MOVESET LIST IS NOT A GUIDE!!! EVERYTHING you've just said could be easily deduced from reading the moveset and having a very basic knowledge of how the lawbringer plays. Also, you're completely ignoring the fact that the lawbringer has a SLOWER GUARD CHANGE than other classes, which means that comparable to your opponent you actually have to have FASTER reaction speed to be on par. Have you tried playing him against a light spamming peacekeeper?
Your guide, which isn't a guide, has NOTHING that constitues an argument or evidence for why lawbringer would be "fine" what you've basically done is explain how he SHOULD play, not how he IS playing. Meanwhile multiple other players have thoroughly explained where his issues are, and i am getting TIRED of repeating this **** to people who can't even be arsed to read existing threads on the subject. You people have the mental capacity of ****ing TURNIPS!
There is a difference between a general guide to combat and a character specific guide. You offered a character specific guide that doesn't go beyond the lowest levels of play. Anyone with any sort of competence in the game's basics will have gone past this guide already. What works for a Warden might not work for a Nobushi. That doesn't mean the basics aren't involved, but character specifics matter.
Write a proper guide with good information - And in the attempt of doing so you'll realize how flawed Lawbringers are.
You have no idea how childish that response sounds, do you?Originally Posted by zesilo Go to original post
