Make a competitive game mode with no environment hazards.

Decent maps where decent players can just fight. Right now it's just parry, Guard-Break, Bye. Unless it's two really good people and they just respect fighting so don't purposely try and throw each other off.

I'd argue that you should just stay away from them, but... Some of the new maps have an environmental kill every two steps. They're physically unavoidable, and every fight comes down to one mistake = instant death, and at high-level play turns into a feint-spam contest to see who blinks first. It's not particularly fun.

It's not fun to have to just "stay away" I'd rather just have a balanced map where it comes down to who's the better player.

I'd like to see more "wide, open field" duel maps. Maybe have a few rocks, pillars, or the like to throw people into, but no bottomless pits of death at every turn.

You do realize there is an entire duel map without a single hazard right?

Learn to play the game and don't try to divide the community any more through game modes. Throws are part of the strengths and weaknesses of each character and there are ways to play around them fairly.

Throws, yes - Instant ledge kills, no.

The argument that some classes are balanced around spamming ledge kills is asinine. Some areas have none of those and would gimp these characters as a result. Nobody should be balanced around always fighting in one kind of area. Some may have a harder time without walls to throw people into, others a problem if they're stuck in tight spaces, but that's fine.

It is not fair if some classes are balanced around 1 shotting someone by throwing them into an endless pit. I agree with everything you say. I'd take an open field map over a tiny ****ty bridge any day. Way more skill, way more fun. I'd much rather get destroyed in a fight by a top player than be thrown off a bridge by one.

True. That is part of the strengths and weaknesses of each character. If you rely solely on edge kills to win, not only are you ignoring most of what that character has to offer, but you are also ruining the combat system ubisoft worked so hard to build. If you absolutely need edge kills to win, then maybe you should learn more moves for that character. Or better yet, maybe learn a new character that doesn't rely on throws that much. Of which I assure you there are plenty. That is the whole purpose behind having so many characters. So that you learn more than one.

I can't count the duels I've won where I've had the opportunity to throw my opponent from a ledge, but chose to throw them away from it instead.

I've said it once, say it again - Environmental kills are boring. You deny yourself the satisfaction of beating them properly and the enjoyment in that brutal execution. Better to lose a thousand fantastic battles than win ten thousand boring ones.

Well, that's a fine argument. By all means, tell us of all these counters.
