How can I deal with guard break?

I'm having so much difficulty in dealing with guardbreaks. I just don't have that quick reaction time with guardbreak cancel. Is there any other method I can deal with this? Does rolling backward helps? Anything Please!!!!

Attacks beat guardbreak - although you run the risk of getting hit first if they don't guardbreak and attack instead. Trying to counter with a guardbreak of your own is a safer, low risk, low reward option. Going for an attack is a higher risk, higher reward.

Attacking does work, but yeah it does have a risk. Kensei (the only one im using in the game atm) just doesnt attack as quick as many other heroes so attacking to counter those guardbreak is riskier with him.

Attacking only works if the player is interruptable. With the current garbage gear system players have revenge more often than not and are not interruptable.

Si yeah... gb is OP trash right now and I'm sick of getting tossed off stuff by trash players.

Also, even though they say if you are in an attack or tech animation you can't be grabbed... you can.

I am constantly being grabbed mid combo.

The current build makes the game a giant pile of garbage.

If they don't fix this soon the player base is going to leave and that'll be it for For Honor...

How to counter GB? By countering GB!

Make sure you press your own GB right at physical impact. Practice against bots (level 3 for example for all rounds practice). Timing is key there.

The odds of success of counter-GBing in 4v4 is lower due to 'noise', but once you're in a 1v1 situation, the odds of you doing it goes up (less distraction).

    Hope that helps.

There are also a ton of non-intuitive time when you are disabled from countering. When you are dodging. When you were supposed to be immune because you were attacking or using a tech. When you tried to GB them but the game chose you to die instead. If you are playing conq and you were charging your heavy.

Basically 90% of the time you won't be able to GB counter because this build is garbage

I know how the guardbreak cancel works, but my reaction time is a bit tad slower for guardbreak cancel window. Im just not capable of overcoming this. No matter the amount of practice I put into the game, I can't succesfully guardbreak cancel when playing multiplayer unless I get lucky. So Im trying to find other solutions to overcome this incompetence of mine.

Hmm. That makes sense a little more tricky then.

As a Kensei, one of the options to mitigate the risk, is to use range and light attacks (since light attacks will interrupt guard break) - and aim at using mobility to dart in and out of the fight.

Parry should be easier with the kensei, so you could use that to play very defensively and get guard breaks on the other guy when he gets to close to punish him and break range again.

I think playing range and light attacks would be the best way to mitigate the risk without completely removing it.

Counter-guard breaking is broken at the moment.

For example if you're giving a movement command at the same time as trying to counter grab, even as basic as walk backwards, no dodge, then you cannot counter grab. If you think they're going to grab you, you essentially need to sit still and press no other buttons on your keyboard or mouse at the time you counter grab. It's absolute crap.

However the counter-grab is being addressed in their first "gameplay improvements" update, which i hope is coming sooner rather than later before majority of their player base get fed up with this crap.
