What if they dodge and light attack, how do you parry/counter then?

I see a lot of people saying that the answer to dodge attack spamming is to feint and parry, which works, but you can only parry a heavy attack, so what if they dodge and light attack you like the orochi does often? Im just trying to get gud like everyone tells me...

Hello, you can parry light attacks. I think you can't feint them. You got this wrong.

so the counter to dodge attacks, lets say orochi, berserker, kensei, whatever. Their dodge attack ALWAYS comes from the same direction, dependent on the direction they dodge. to counter dodge spammers, you just feint an attack to bait their dodge, then you KNOW the direction of where their attack is coming from. With this knowledge, all it comes down to is timing, which is pretty easy because the act of dodging telegraphs the attack. then you can parry (yes, you can even parry light attacks) and then land a free hit and keep attacking from there.

dodge attacks are actually very VERY easy to counter.

edit - i just wanted to make this more clear, you CAN parry light attacks. you can actually parry any attack, I THINK! I think kensei's zone attack and conquerer's zone attacks you might not be able to. but, for the most part, you can parry any attack. if you see the guard indicator flash white when an attack is coming, that means it is parriable and you can parry when the indicator turns white

Light attacks can be parried. The side dodge attacks assassins have always hits on the side they move to, so you will know which direction it will come from which makes them easier to defend. If they are just throwing it out raw it's quite unsafe, you can get used to blocking them first them when you are comfortable parry them if you are prepared.

The better players will wait for you to attack or predict your attack and then dodge to punish you. For you to counter this you can initiate a heavy attack which may prompt them to dodge, but then cancel your heavy attack and parry to the side they move to. Good luck.

Kensei's side dash attacks come from the opposite direction. So if he dodges left it's coming from the right.

Its also good to note the kensai's dodge attack when blocked, not parried will result in a free guard break for you. Many a Ken has been reckted by abusing their dodge attack to much.
