Shugoki in-dept Analysis At Higher Level
Bear with me english ain't my main. I reached Rep 4 on Shugoki and decided to give my opinion on him, i mostly leveled using duel so this is a straight 1on1 opinion of him.
Here we have the core of the Shugoki playstyle his Passive Uninterruptible stance. It allow him to play aggressive, trade hit with others hero and to be immune to stun/knockdown or any other type of crowd control. After being hit once the stance wear off and he needs to not be hit to gain it back. While the armor is down he takes heavy damage.
This passive make the Shugoki tanky and at the same time the squishiest hero. Once your stance is off you better get the **** out because otherwise hero like PeaceKeeper can kill you in a few hits. Seriously, without it the Shugoki is a mediocre hero that's just waiting to die. Champion like the berserker who favor multiple light attack with heavy can chop his hp to 20% in one combo. Warden double hit also proc the stance off same with the Oroshi. Every time you get parried you better be ready to say goodbye to your hp because guardbreak also remove it.
The Shugoki can cancel his heavy attack, yay for feint you say, well **** look at those slow *** swing of his. Not only cancelling them is 2 obvious, most of the time you better off with trading hit with him because of your stance.
Demon embrace, oh boy, where do i start, on paper this ability looks awesome. Do damage, heal and can one shot someone when low hp? yea except its the most telegraphed move in the whole game, not only does it make you lose 2 bar of health when you use it, it also leave you open for damage. So yea, 2 bar of health + a heavy without your stance of course cuz you just took damage, 1/3 of your life gone GG. Most of the time i was successful in landing it was when a enemy used a long charge up skill or timing it when you throw enemy on ground with no stamina AND even then when they on the ground the skill doesn't work on them so you can't just use it right after you throw them. It also work versus enemy who are rather large and can't move fast.
Move List

I love this move, any light attack or heavy attack can be chained with it, dazing enemy and removing stamina BUT the problem is that this move consume 2 much of his own stamina. it's ridiculous, it's like im trading my own stamina for the person i hit the ability with it. In combat you'll normally hit a light attack then use headbutt but then you can't do anything else or else you gonna be stamina deprived. Not to mention the 0 dmg it do and the fact that you can't knock people off ledge with it. If you can grab someone, push them and then light + heabutt you can remove most of their stamina . Love/hate relationship with that move.

Best move in the whole game, punt your enemy away, make them roll in the dirt and off to the sky..This is our version of the heavy attack after grab, now what's wrong with it? Cost a **** ton of stamina to do ,throw people super far away when not needed and the dmg isn't the best compared to others heavy attack. Most of the time I use this skill when i'm almost out of stam (50% stam LOL) and i can't chain throw+light+headbutt after a grab. Oh yea did i also mention that it can miss if you do it when there is a object in the path of the animation, awesome.

Love that move, make you charge like a mad bull and knock people down while consuming stamina, can cancel. Now what's wrong with it, yea it doesn't hit, i can use that move to chase people and PUSH THEM from behind and it doesn't do anything. Good for trolling people and running into another direction or for that bridge map in duel
.

Basic sweep attack while running. I only use it when i fake a guard break when running at people.

Double Heavy attack, the second hit can be delayed a bit, so u can trick others and hit them. Decent.

Light attack + Heavy attack. Don't think i can remember when i last used it, if you can land a light attack you better using headbutt because most time your heavy gonna be either blocked or parried. Useless.

THE BIG HITTER. Charge heavy to do insane dmg. Slow move, telegraphed a lot. Most people can parry it or just dodge out of it. Most useful way i found was when someone on the ground after a throw.
Okay now to talk about how i feel of the Shugoki when I face a player who can parry and guard break. Most frustrating fight ever, the Shugoki have no light guardbreak move, you can't break someone who is turtling and can parry well. Shugoki excel at trading blows. If your enemy doesn't attack, you are forced to throw light attack in hope one of them land so u can chain a headbutt and hope he miss a guardbreak to chain him otherwise you have no option other than risk a demon embrace at the cost of the round. Everytime i try to feint a heavy i just get guardbreaked since the animation is so slow. Most of my win at reputation 4 end up with my enemy missing guardbreak and parry on my heavy attack. If i fight anyone decent at parry it's a one sided butchery. His kit is so bad to deal with anyone who focus on defense.
tl;dr
Shugoki super hard to win at higher level of gameplay, super easy to kill average players with.
