Yeah can we tone down on the ganking, or make it easier to counter being ganked.

Just been ganked by 3 or 4 man teams 5 times in a row. They go around 2 at a time like noahs god damn ark or sometimes 3 at a time to kill 1 or 2 unsuspecting warriors. Needless to say, this tactic won all of those games for them. It's really making me question why I suffer through the matches. Even when I'm playing with a group, we still have the occasional match where we get ganked one by one. It's an incredibly boring way to play and play against.

Best solution to counter the ganking garbage nonsense honestly would be to turn team damage up to where it's similar to the damage you put out to enemies. This way when people are swinging heavy attacks wildly they may take out one of their teammates, maybe nerf revive timers as well. To combat team-killing people who do it to be a**holes, just implement some team damage/team kill punishments; point deduction, kicking from the game when team killing a certain amount of people, etc. It'll make the game a lot more fun and it'll make people think twice about ganking just for a cheap win, and they'll need to choose their strikes wisely. That and it'll prolong the life of the game as I know a lot of people who are already tired of the cheesy tactics that others use to win.

inb4 - you're supposed to gank, just gank yourself, the game was made that way and other garbage talk

pls ubiseft, pls do te rite fing

I'm not completely disregarding your topic but i'm just wondering why should teamwork be punished? What is bad about a group of 2 or 3 people who stick close to each other to kill of 1 or 2 unsuspecting warriors. That's really the fault of the unsuspecting warrior. Like in the wild, the weakest one of the bunch or the animal who gets separated from the group will get killed. It's a tactic and most of the time good teamwork wins the match.

If only the developers included some sort of game mechanic that gave you extra life, attack, and defense for blocking multiple attackers. If only.

I believe you're missing the fact that the game literally puts you in a 1v1 scenario in the beginning of every elimination round.

In Dominion, Extreme Ganking is actually a bad strategy. And you already have external block and revenge mode. What more could you want? Also... if you wanna counter ganks, play as a acharacter that's well suited for it.

As much as I hate it as well it's what we sign up for when you choose a 4v4. Players will do whatever they need to in order to win. even if that means using allies as legs so they have feet to stand on in a fight. The best way to handle this really is to just shrug it off. if it helps you can even acknowledge to yourself how poor of a player they are that they needed allies to back them. Just as long as that doesn't become your mindset and you NEVER sent hate mail or messages saying this to them.

It's probably not the healthiest way to handle the situation. but it's how I manage to keep myself from boiling over. that and cooling off with some duels or 2v2s.

The effect of ganking is certainly more noticeable, as opposed to say, Battlefield, where you can have anywhere from 1 to 15 people all shooting at you, In this case, it's up close and personal.

That said, even in games like World of Warcraft, it'll happen quite often and is accepted as "normal". I think the main difference is that in For Honor, combat / perceived 1v1 is very much a "personal" experience, due to the way how the targetting system works. Even in WoW where you have targetting mechanics, the view is so "tactical" that it doesn't feel personal, whereas in For Honor, it's right there over-the-shoulder experience - which makes situational awareness a little more difficult in the case of being backstabbed.

As much as it's annoying, I do sometimes take part in ganging up 2v1 during Dominion matches. The best is not to really expect a 1v1, and even if you do manage to have an opponent that will gladly 1v1 you, nothing guarantees a third party joining in for a quick kill in order for a quick capture of a point.

The most important is being able to hold up and tie up a 1v2 while pressing "Help me!" beacon (by pressing B) and hope that either your team shows up to turn it into a 2v2 or 3v2, or that they'll use the weakened points to make their own offensive.

Or... play an assassin character and disengage when the odds arent to your liking. Not much else can be said really.
