Will we ever have the option to change our datacenter continent for the purposes of matchmaking?
In Siege we can do this, but not in For Honor, and it's driving me insane. 3+ minutes to find a match in tons of countries (including mine), always with open skill level parameters, high pings, and with people across the entire continent.
In my case, i'd have much better pings and much faster matchmaking if i could just set my datacenter to the north american continent, like i do in siege (60~70 ping). Just let us choose where we play, please!
Thank you for reading.
EDIT: I should also specify that all i'm asking for is a simple edit on the .ini files, like they did for Siege. No development required.
EDIT2: 5 min queue just to get the wrong game mode (need elimination). Thanks valve! http://imgur.com/a/GQcZl
EDIT3: Going to throw some more arguments, just in case.
This is already killing low-pop areas.
Every other popular online game lets players choose this. It's a major factor in a game's longevity.
Matchmaking already takes care of the "i don't want to fight players in another continent" issue, since it first filters by proximity. You'll still be matched with people nearby first, but it would still make a major impact for players that are stuck playing against people from halfway across the globe, simply because it counts as the same continent, instead of playing against a neighboring continent.
After 5+ minutes of queue time, it decided to send me to the ASIAN continent instead of North America! What the fuuuuuuuuck (i'm from south america, open NAT, all ports forwarded, "very high" activity for dominion) https://twitter.com/FelipeCty/status/834694747591684096
hahahha... you realize there are no data-centers right?
the games runs off a P2P network system... there are no servers..
hahaha
EDIT:
...wait did you just diss VALVE for this??
HAHAH you realise valve has nothing to d with this game XDDDDDDD wow you are either the best troll ive ever seen or... you know, you need to go back to 3rd grade.
still, not sure why this is valves problem... LOLOriginally Posted by Angier. Go to original post

Not sure why i'm bothering explaining this, but dissing Valve for any multiplayer game is a common joke.
Also, quite ironic that you tell people to "go back to 3rd grade" while writing like a 10 year old.
This is getting ridiculous. At late night, you can queue for 2+ hours and never find a match, in any mode besides 1v1 (and even that still takes 3+ minutes). In peak times, it takes 5~10 min to find a 4v4 match, and it's usually horribly imbalanced or full of bots. R6Siege gave players the option to pick servers shortly after launch. Please, Ubi, do this before your game dies!
