A L2p issue with me. First, I understand I am not good. Second, I try not to get frustrated, but I can rage sometimes with the best of us I guess. : ) I have a few questions and could use some help.
I feel like I play as well as a lvl2 bot right now. A lvl 3 just whips my rear, but I beat a level 2 most of the time if that help answer any of the below questions. Like I said I understand I am not some "godmode" player and don't pretend to be.
(I am going to butcher the spelling of some class names so bear with me.)
I like to play Orochi and PeaceKeeper because I liked the speed of them and they are very unforgiving (imo) if you screw up. Problem is I screw up a lot. LOL
So I decided to play Warden a bit to help me (I hope) get more into the flow of combat. So on to the first question.
Is there a difference in the way classes dodge? It seems like I can dodge the level 1 training bot with the Orochi class say 70% of the time. With the Warden, It feels like I can only dodge 25% of the time. IS there some major difference in timing with dodge that I am not aware of?
Is deflect with the Orochi random? I try and try and try to get it right and just can not do so. I can parry 60% of the time I am not perfect, but I know I can do it, but Deflect not a chance in hell. In fact, I miss the follow up every time I deflect because I jump every time I deflect because I wasn't expecting it.
Lastly and this is where I might get flamed a bit. I was trying to, (just because it was what I was used too), play the warden a bit like the Orochi with more dodging than blocking, but again it doesn't seem like the class can dodge at all. Even fighting a lawbringer which swings sooo slow I see the hit coming from a mile away, I still press dodge, and the warden just doesn't side dodge the hit. What am I missing? Does the warden have a smaller dodge "window" than say the Orochi? I have tried to make sense of what I am doing wrong and I can't seem to figure it out.
Anyway any help anyone can be I would be grateful. Thank you. I hope the post was as clear as mud. : )
I am grateful for the people stopping by the read my thread, but I would like it if I could get some answers too please.
I know you all might just take for granted the questions that I am asking, but for some reason they are not "computing" well in my brain. I would understand if the Warden does not dodge as well as a peacekeeper. I would understand yes armor type etc. That all makes sense to me, but no where does it say the dodge window for said class is X and the windows for another class is Y. Or does it and I don't know?
Hell maybe I just suck at it. I find it a little hard to believe that I can dodge a level 1 bot almost all the time with one class then turn around and go almost 20% rate with another class. That seems odd unless there is something for sure different about the dodge between classes, but I can find nothing on this.
Anyway, Thanks for the help.![]()
To my knowledge all classes dodge and parry the same. Blocking is a bit different due to weapon size and how long it takes to go e.g. from left to right.
You should dodge less. Dodging gives the opponent a chance to grab you without you being able to counter it at all. Parrying/blocking it doesn't. When parrying you can be feinted and then guardbroken.
Also lvl 3 bots are more or less designed in a way that makes you having to earn your dmg. You need to parry/dodge or deflect to do it. They won't really let you hit or grab them for free. Just like a good player.
Yeah I am sitting here trying to dodge with the warden as I was waiting on a response again thinking well maybe I am screwing it up. (and I might still ), but I still get hit a lot more dodging a lvl 1 bot with a warden than with a peace keeper by a HUGE %.Originally Posted by TTVPappusGaming Go to original post
I get rocked and I mean rocked by a lvl 3 bot right now. Almost to the effect where I am not even learning anything. Level 2 I feel like ok I am countering and I can think about do this or do that. I am just not ready for lvl3 yet. I know that makes me "bad" and not on par with others but I accept that and keep trying to learn.
Thank you for your reply.
