As a Warden main I don't know how to 1v1 fight Orochi and Noboshi.
Noboshi has superior range compared to Warden. She will simply poke from a safe distance. I try different approaches. Run against her without guard lock and do the fast attack. But she usually just jump back out of reach. Or try creeping up on her while blocking all attacks. But here she just keeps backing out while poking from a safe distance. I can't land a guard break unless i catch her backing into a wall.
Oroshi players always do the same. Rush in and spam light attacks until stamina is depleted. Then back out of fight or run away to regain stamina - rinse and repeat. I can't land a guard break because of the fast attack speed. I can't counter it unless i land a perry or crushing overhead blow.
Any suggestions guys?
I feel your pain mullerode,
Good orochi's and Nobushi's can be very hard to beat sometimes.
VS Nobushi ~
You can play defensively, go for parry's / crushing counters and then following up with a zone attack, However I found the best "and Most Difficult" way is to continuously press the Nobushi keeping the pressure as they constantly attempt to back peddle, harassing with top lights, and attempting mix up combo while mixing it into random shoulder charge feint's into Guard Breaks then going for side heavies.
VS Orochi ~
Just play 100% defensively at all times, parry EVERYTHING then follow up with Guard Breaks for a free side heavy, rinse / repeat.
These may not be the best ways in going about beating these heroes but this is how I do it.
Against Orochi:
Keep guard on right side or top, depens what is easier for you do reacto to either his zone attack or top light. I prefer keeping my guard on the right side and react to top.
Poke him with your zone attack when you have full or nearly full stamina. Poke with overheads, be careful if he dodge alot of your overheads then faint overhead heavy and parry his side.
Never use random heavys. Be awar of his Charge faint into GB.
In general if you are getting overhelmed with light's stop trying to parry and focus on blocking.
Getting overhelmed by lights is a sign that you dont have enough practice with your defensive play in general.
Against Nobushi:
Walk straight up to her and block whatever she throws at you, dont parry if she does not have a wall in her back.
Her Guard switch is slow so zone attack usual light and fast top light attacks work great.
Some of the nobushis are very vunerable to Top light into shoulder charge into top light into shoulder charge into GB, especially when their stam is low or they are cornered.
This is one of the most helpful posts I've read. "Getting overhelmed by lights is a sign that you dont have enough practice with your defensive play in general." is really good to read. Now I know what I need to work on.Originally Posted by Waynedetta88 Go to original post
I'm so used to trying to parry that I guess I just need to read when to block too.
Literally what this guy said, although I find the dash lights (ones that apply bleed) are slower and easy to parry which helps you close distance much quicker applying more pressure.Originally Posted by Waynedetta88 Go to original post
Be aware of her kick as it puts distance between you and also gives her a free bleed attack, nobushi can only use a kick after a normal light and not a bleed light, being aware of this mid fight makes it easier to predict kicks which you can dodge and punish.
Just adding some tips on orochi, decent orochi players like to feint into zone, guard breaks and double top light. Unless you are comfortable feinting your parry then I would 100% recommend not reacting to their first heavy as it is most likely a feint (just match their guard) and react to what comes next.
When you're on low health against orochi, they like to spam their zone attacks to try and get easy hits to finish you off.
if the orochi player is just using obvious storm rushes and heavy tops without feinting, then easy parries.
