Hi everyone,
I'll certainly forward this on, but please remember that there are a number of factors that can have an impact on blocking/parrying a blow, not least an incorrectly-timed parry and/or a poor connection.
To parry a blow you need to block in the correct direction and hit heavy attack at the right time. If you get the timing wrong, it won't work and you'll take the damage from the blow because it's considered an attack and not a defence. In your third video of the Valkyrie against the Berserker, the control mapping at the bottom shows that you try to throw a guard break (middle mouse button) and also attempt a parry (right click) towards the end of the footage. In these cases, it's perfectly normal to take the damage. The overhead attack you take in the final video also seems to be a badly timed parry, judging by the animation. In the first video with the Orochi, you're out of stamina and blocking top heavy attacks from a Raider. The last one that goes through is likely because you didn't get the block back up in time (perhaps because of lag, which leads me to the next possibility).
It could otherwise just be that you're experiencing lag, which as some other users in the thread have mentioned means there's a delay between what actually happens (you being attacked) and what you try to respond with (a block). This would also result in you taking damage when having seemingly blocked in time.
As above though, I will forward this thread on for investigation. But it's important to bear in mind that there are other possibilities than "it's just broken".
Have a good evening,
Gaidheal
I think explanation like "you are experiencing lag" is sad and unprofessional from my point of view. Now I understand why deflecting Guard Breaks not work. Why dodging not work. Why still betting hit even when blocking from correct guard.... I AM JUST EXPERIENCING LAG. Game like this should have inbuilt "Lag Reduce Mechanism". If Ubisoft programmers not know what I mean, use google. There are lots of articles about this.
