In this article https://www.vg247.com/2017/02/17/for...rie-buff-more/ says that guard break will get back to the state it was in beta , plz dont do it , some ppl like me already mastered it to perfection ( yes u have more time to react the counter break) but still there will be no difference just u will make ppl learn it all over again
https://youtu.be/nu6aYxOpj7k Oh comon!!! It is unreal to counter!
You're doing it way too early. I can see the startup of your GB. that shouldn't happen if you're going to tech.Originally Posted by Mamosha_ Go to original post
You guys need to learn how to read...
The timing is not going back... as of right now if you and your opponent both GB the person who the game chooses to win, wins. The other guy not only loses but the gb is uncounterable because the game says that you attempted to counter too early.
This is what they are fixing because it was not this way in Beta.
I don't feel like it needs to be reverted. There's nothing wrong with the tech timing apart from if you press it too fast you won't counter guard break. If the change gets reverted I'm almost certain at top level you will almost never get a guard break on anyone because of the window to tech. I've managed to condition players with different timing with grabs ie after opponent blocks one of my attack, I instant GB them and later on I will instead delay my GB so that if they pressed GB after blocking rather then trying to react to me GB first they lose and I GB them. This way I've managed to punish them for pressing GB early because they're not trying to react GB here.
I really hope they don't change it because everyone's complaining. Understand why your GB isn't teching and how you can use it to your advantage and you'll be fine. Right now I quite like the idea of being able to "whiff punish" a GB. It all comes down to timing and changing the way you approach with your strategy. If reverted how do you punish someone that's able to reactively counter GB everytime? Even right now I will tech 95% of GB if I'm waiting to react, it's just that easy but if someone has an idea of when an opponent may press GB after certain set plays shouldn't the player be rewarded somewhat because the 2nd player is pressing GB later than the first. I know we can already light attack people that are trying to GB but I like the idea that there's other options to cover people that are pressing GB.
Yes they should revert the guardbreak interrupt. This is not streetfighter. Here you can instantly die from one missed interrupt because of the environment. It should be easy to avoid even for new people.
Also you don´t need to search for some article online to confirm this: http://forums.ubi.com/showthread.php...y-Improvements
That's why you need to be wary of your environment and positioning. If you are near anything where a GB will kill you your mind set should be not do any unsafe attack that can be punished with GB because you will die ie dash side/forward light and you should just react to any GB done to you. There's no reason for you to risk trying to GB someone in these situations. If anything the person throwing is at risk because if you tech GB you will be pushed back and can fall into many traps/ledges for doing so.Originally Posted by CabalTrainee Go to original post
'It's not the same as the beta' is not a valid excuse to patch a game. Patching fighting games frequently and at the whim of everyone who complains, is a recipe for your game being abandoned by high-level players and the game ending up a mess.Originally Posted by Peligrad Go to original post

"Currently you can’t counter a guardbreak during a guardbreak attempt. This will be returned to the previous behavior seen in the Beta. "
sounds to me that the timing IS going back. you will be able to gb at ANY time during the attempt, thats what he says, is it not? gbing will be way too easy. there are little to no incentives to land the first hit with how easy and strong parry is and this buff to counter guard breaking is gonna make it worse.
