It's really difficult to try out new characters when getting matched against people with triple my experience on their respective characters. I feel like I'm being punished for spreading out my play time across heroes by being matched against people who main a single hero and have 2-3 times the gear score. Even in modes without gear score, I still feel disadvantaged with a new hero because I constantly play against people who have prestiges and are way better with that hero than I am with mine.
It's more logical he want equal or a small difference in the matches he ends up in, or a way to opt out of such gearscore fests.Iits not fun being lv 17 and gear 9 agaist mister reputation 8 gear 75. I bet it's not very fun for THAT guy either.Originally Posted by bsftsfk Go to original post
Either or, its abit of a seedbed for toxicity. Calling Haxor, or leaving the game (already a crappy problem). We will accept it right now, but it could be better, for all.
you probably should try out the difference between low-level and high-level gear (besides the fact that any gear reduces something to buff the other thing). You will be surprised how wrong you are complaining about this. Spoiler: difference between "almost zero attack" and "almost full attack" blade for orochi is ~10%.Originally Posted by FrenchHotdog Go to original post
I just don't find the training mode enjoyable or rewarding, and I like contributing to the war assests as well as completing the contracts. I don't think it would be too unfair since the heroes all play so differently from each other. The only advantage I can think of is knowing defensive timings, but if you can't properly follow up and kill the other guy, you're kind of helping them learn the game too. As for the gear score complaint, I meant it more as another indicator for being outclassed by the opponent, but even if the attack aspect isn't hugely significant, revenge and speed boosts I've found to be quite noticeable. You'd also probably be surprised how much of a difference 10% can make in a game like this.

Regardless if you just want to learn how your character moves, the speed of their attacks, and just getting used to your moveset, AI is always going to be the way to go. I think it's bad to try to learn against players when you don't know how to control your character, anyway. Gotta think about your team.
Also since you match make before choosing a class, how could the game know which class to use for it's matchmaking formula?Originally Posted by jhollister Go to original post
That's exactly my point. I wish the matchmaking happened after picking the hero. Plenty of games do it that way and there's no coordinating teams when playing with randoms in this game anyway (at least on consoles).Originally Posted by StrikeQ Go to original post
From what I've come to understand since posting this, the MMR is based on time-played for the account. Which is really unfortunate for someone like myself who might leave the game running when doing other things. The game tells me I have 30 hrs played when actually it's nowhere near that. Not to mention a good chunk of that is campaign time.
That would be all fine and well, but outside of practice duels where i can set the difficulty(which also doesn't contribute to contracts/faction war and is no fun) Player vs AI games with Lv 3 bots are just as unbearable to play against as experienced players when trying to learn a new character.Originally Posted by RYUJINdotEXE Go to original post
