The deflect on a peacekeeper is pointless

I wish i could just disable the deflect.

    1. It does more or less the same damage as a dodge heavy + light followup
    2. It's a lot more difficult to use, you have to get both the direction and the timing right, vs. just dodging in any direction with a much more forgiving timing
    3. It's more dangerous to use because:
3.1 If you mess up the timing you'll probably get hit, especially if you're trying to dodge into them to deflect an overhead
3.2 If the guy feints you've basically just dodged to the side and can get hit with an unbreakable guardbreak. The dodge attack counts as an attack and is therefore immune to gb
    4. The deflect actually sometimes messes up my dodge attack, i accidentally deflect, then hit heavy attack to do a dodge attack and nothing happens
    5. If you kill someone the dodge attack will give you an execution, the deflect won't

    I would propose that either
    1. The deflect uses the heavy attack button (leaving the damage the same) so it doesn't mess up the dodge attack, and possibly starts giving executions too.
    2. The deflect gets a dmg increase to actually make it worth using
    3. It gets removed or totally reworked into something different and useful

PFT. if it's as good as a different attack that means you've got 2 viable attacks of the same strength. which means you have the ability to mix things up. why is that bad?
Also you can currently dodge and hit light and heavy at the same time. if you got the timing correct you'll land the bleed poke. if you didn't but dodged the hit that was coming in you still get good damage.
    it's fine.

It works great on the peacekeeper. It's free damaged.

Did you even read what I wrote in the post or just the title? It works and is free damage but you can get the same damage easier and safer by doing a dodge attack instead.

Also I don't think the deflect counts as "mixing it up" as both it and the dodge attack are used in the same way and leave the enemy no room to react. It's not like you can do a deflect instead of a dodge attack and trick him somehow into failing to defend himself.

I may be wrong but I thought the deflect-light does less damage than dodge-heavy-light. Doesn't it just do a light's worth of bleed without the heavy damage?

The problem I have with it, as you say, is I may be intending to dodge-heavy-light but accidentally get the timing right and get a deflect instead, which negates the heavy, which means I don't get the deflect-light either. Even if I do happen to get it right, I still did less damage than I would've if I got the dodge-heavy-light.

AFAIK the only advantage of deflect-light is that it uses less stamina than dodge-heavy-light, otherwise it seems inferior.

I agree, the deflect is too dangerous and unforgiving to use and has no real benefit, which is why I do not use it. It needs to do more damage to make it worth using or it needs to be easier to deflect. The window is so small I don't use it as I usually just get hit. Actually, since they nerfed the time to dodge on the PK, it's hard enough to dodge an attack at all, let alone deflect it

What deflect does is allow you to guard two directions simultaneously. So against Warden, you can hold guard on left while moving forward. Left guard blocks his zone attack, and if he goes for a quick top double light then you can deflect it with a forward dash The same can be done against Orochi and other classes which have two or more very fast initiation attacks.

In your example you still have to react to the Warden's top attack to deflect it. How is this any different/better than reacting to it by blocking (safer) or even parrying (safer and more damage)?

Yeah you change your guard so you aren't guarding your left anymore but unless the Warden has four arms and can do top light and zone attack at the exact same time why does this matter?

Saying deflect lets you guard in two directions simultaneously is like saying I can guard in all three directions simultaneously by changing my block.

It Can set you up for some nice combos and stuns the enemy

First of all when you do the deflect, if you follow up with two light attacks it will do a very fast combo. this will most likely hit since the enemy would be focusing on offence, not defense. Also this is a guaranteed stun, for example you are playing a spin2win berserker, with your usual heavy-light combo when you dash right, he will also dash right, so the attack will be useless. With the deflect, when you hit it the enemy will be stunned, and their combo will be cancelled, and then you follow up with the light-light combo and do a lot of damage. this works for me because whenever I deflect, the enemy is still trying to get the next hit in their combo, while I poke away at their health.

lul. You cant stun bers with deflect and you will eat every followed attack. Some heroes have armor on hits if you dont know.
