Having trouble with locking on using a controller

    Hi,

Currently using an Xbox 360 controller on PC (With lock set to toggle so I don't have to hold the trigger), whenever I'm in a 2v1 it will randomly switch to the other target, this has gotten me killed so many times as it causes critical attacks to miss and makes blocking really hard to do when the screen is moving back and forth at random. The problem only seemed to start yesterday and I can hear the target switching sound even during 1v1, so it's trying to switch to another target but just has nothing else to lock onto. Is anyone else experiencing this problem and have you worked out a fix? I've searched the settings and found nothing out of place.

    Thanks.

    Same exact problem!!!
Ive narrowed it down to changing the guard <stance> using the Right Stick. As soon as I change the stance direction, it also changes targets. It is ultra annoying !!!!!!

    -Wired xbox 360 controller
-up to date drivers for win10

    *bump*

Yeah, I had suspected as much. It always seems to do it when I change guard to finish someone off or something like that. Just the worst damn timing. I've literally had someone sitting out a fight letting me 1v1 someone else, and then it's changed lock onto them and attacked them, which of course brought them into the fight making it a 2v1. As if that's something I would do intentionally.

-Should also mention Windows 10 with wired Controller

Not sure I'm even pressing right trigger, but maybe it's the stress... anyway, xbox controller, PC, win 10, guard mode on toggle.

Is button mapping really too much to ask (if Rstick is the problem...)

Right? If I could switch lock on to another button like the left bumper (which would we way better anyway) it'd be so much easier to work out the cause of the problem.

I have the same issue. It's SOOO frustrating. Also using toggle lock, but when a 2nd or 3rd enemy comes near it always switches targets for some reason. PLEASE HELP UBIIII

Windows 7, Xbox 360 Wireless controller, PC

From what I gathered the issue here is that the Right Stick button (R3), which also resets camera, it also does the target switching. Therefore when ur fighting multiple dudes and ur trying to switch guard stance, IF you dont press -gently- it will instanly switch to another target.

This can be easily fixed IF they let us remap controls for the.. controller!

I have this issue too, I have actually found the game reacts much faster, like input latency is less or something if you use the NOT lock on method, so hold down LT for targeting, its hard to get used to as a PC player, but try it out. something is certain up.

I am with you on this one. I too have this issue with my PS1 Analog Controller. It really bothers me and makes game modes with multiple opponents at times extremely frustrating. Especially if you 1on1 people in Elimination and then you suddenly target a bystander whilst performing a crucial hit that suddenly just goes slicing air or that you miss an important block/parry. Hence this game can give one so many frustrating moment, more than any other game I have ever experienced. Apparently the R3 input reacts already on the tiniest input, so I don't have to press in the stick until I hear it making a clicking sound which arguably leads to many of those misstimed malfunction while directing your guard in an intence fight. I was wondering if it was just the issue with my controller but apparently even those xbox users experience this.

Maybe I will remap the button, but it would really be better if we just got the option within the game since manual remapping in the game files leads to incorrect button displays ingame plus it would be nice to have more options for customization

As for the second point some people pointed out I also experienced that trigger targeting seems to have an input latency. For some characters it is painfully and noticably long. For example the Shugoki (if you ever tried a locked off charge and then turn back to your opponent after stopping a little too late) or the Orochi. I might try the hold down method once for comparison but am not really font of the idea since pressing a key the entire time.
