Access is denied error? | Forums

i tried to start the game right after coming home from work and i got some error that said Access is denied and since then now each time i try to start the game on steam it just keeps saying failed to start game (unknown error) i even tried going into the game folder and tried to start it via the Exe and it told me i don't have permissions to start the game so i figure i'd try running steam and the game in admin and that didn't work either... so i'm not to sure what went wrong but i'm trying to reinstall the game now hopefully someone has an idea?

i tried going into my game folder and opening the game from the exe file but all it says is "Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item." i tried running as admin and giving it full control for permissions but that did nothing so idk what to do....... and so far i'm not getting a response from anyone on steam discussions, customer support, or on here............. sucks being the first person with a new issue...........

Hi there, Takanoshiden,

Please try launching the game from the Uplay client instead.

If this does not resolve the issue, try launching the game from a newly created Windows system profile will full admin permissions.

i did try launching from u-play already but the game only tries to open from steam even from clicking play in uplay i'll try creating a new windows system profile with full admin permissions right after its done installing agian.. i decided to clear out everything related to for honor from the my documents and game folder to see if that would help and thanks for the response i'll keep updating about the issue
edit : my current user account is already a admin but i'll still try making a new account unless you don't think it'll help lol

ok creating a new account didn't work i'm still getting the same error and trying to reinstall after deleting everything related to for honor didn't help either any more suggestions?

well i have no idea what happened but all of a sudden my game works so it fixed its self or yall did something eitherway ty!
