    This game is broken. Really.

Anyone reading this doesnt want an inner monologue. So im going to break right into the meat of this meal.

Lets get started with storymode. First off, whos idea was it to force you into playing specific characters? That was an idiotic move, further, whos idea was it to not add checkpoints, forcing you to restart missions upon death, while also scaling the health and damage of enemies up with difficulty. All this comes together to create not only artificial difficulty, but artificial length. Story mode isnt long, it just feels like it because you have to redo a 20 minute mission again because you died on the last fight. Its not hard, It just feels that way because the enemy health and propensity to dodge goes up with difficulty. When I read "realistic difficulty", I expected that each fight was lethal. That every fight I undertook would only need to land a few hits to kill me, and vice versa. A difficulty where no one could take more than a few hits, and a heavy attack would be the end of the duel. Not myself having no health, and the assassins on their team having more health than an unbuffed lawmaker.

Swiftly moving into multiplayer, lets begin this section with whining about the actual structure. First of all, anyone else notice that youll get ejected from games for no reason? Anyone else notice that youll get dropped from matches for having low FPS even though youre running at a consistent 60 because your computer is a custom built 6000$ behemoth? What about that funny one, the one where if a match fails to load due to lack of players, it ejects your whole party, and splits you up. Making you regroup again. IF you can accept the invite in the first place, because weve spent 15 minutes at one point trying to figure out why my friend was getting "Failed to join group" messages. Remember that time when the game finds your group a match, ditches your group, puts ONLY the leader in the match, and then because youre queued in a lobby, the game refuses to let you leave the lobby until the match starts, or you alt+f4? That one is my favorite. Then theres the issue where the game forces some people (and i stress some people, because 2 friends do this, but I personally dont seem to have this issue) to rewatch the faction war tutorial every single time the map updates.

We have 2 paragraphs of mistakes, im nowhere near done, and I havent even gotten into the actual gameplay yet. What does that tell you?

The characters are severely unbalanced. Terrifyingly so. My friend has the ability to call a match before it even begins, solely on what the team compositions are. Hes not right 100% of the time, but its 70-80%. That more than chance, and is a bad sign. Certain characters (like peacekeepers) seem to be way to strong for what they do, completely drowning out other characters in their class. The disabler characters are just downright awful. A word here which holds the meaning of "Terrifyingly strong". Who here sees the Nabuki every game? I do! I do! Her slightly longer range, buffed attack speed, and bleed all come together in a fit of rage that will cause any assassin character, or jack of all trades character to instantly ragequit in a match where there is more than 1. Im not kidding. Today alone, ive been in 3 matches where there was 2 pole arms, and instantly 2 people left. 3 in one of those. She needs to be balanced. Balanced in relation to other characters, NOT BALANCED IN RELATION TO HER PLAY STYLE.

All this comes together in a conglomerate of "go **** yourself" the second you start to play often, and realize that dodging, abilities, and parrying is inconsistent, and delayed. The game stresses the need to parry and dodge, especially against characters who love to use the broken full guard (which is a whole nother can of worms) but doesnt allow for fluid enough controls to do such. The controls are clunky, and bad. I cant count as high as the times that ive dodge rolled out of a strike, just to have their character snap back onto me, and it connect anyway. I spent 3 hours in a practice match doing nothing but dodging an parrying, and by then end of it, I was proficient to say the least, so i can rule out the 'git gud' mentality here.

This game was a breath of fresh air into the gaming industry. It was very promising, and told volumes about ubisoft trying to shake things up. They went where no one else has ever gone before, to try something new. Myself and my group of friends looked forward to this game from the start. We had very high hopes, for something unique and wonderful. The closed beta, and the open beta promised alot. It was rough around the edges, yes, but it had potential. The first indicator that things werent going to end well was when the open beta started, with an ending date 2 days before release. Thats not enough time to patch a game. It shows that we were right. This game is a cluster **** of not enough time ironing out bugs and issues. The peer to peer connection system is atrocious too.

TL;DR I had high hopes. Ubisoft offered me 1000$ and a large pizza. The thousand dollars was all in pennies from dollar store fake money kits, and the pizza was actually a cardboard box with the word 'pizza' written on it.

I got exactly what they promised me. What I had in mind wasnt what they had in mind.

Honorable mentions that didnt make the first cut:
    Audio issues with select headsets.
Atrociously disingenuous business practices. I hope they spend my money on chocolate.
Again, bad P2P system, coded so badly my great grandmother could do better
Outrageously broken combos, and not the pizza snacks either.

Thanks for ignoring the actual post, and the legitimate bugs, and specifically targeting only 1 point. Youve added alot to this discussion.

Another issue I just came across, is that this game, with certain headsets, blocks out all voice over sounds. I had this issue with Watchdogs 2 as well. Its a joke.

I brushed on that at the end, but all i said was that it was bad. There is absolutely the issue of people abusing it to cause lag spikes intentionally to win fights. Ive seen plenty of that.

I also didnt bring up the fact that season pass holders were promised special elite outfits. Elite outfits that they then turned around and want to STILL buy in game with steel. 7 thousand steel. This is a bait to attempt to get you to buy more steel to make the first purchase valid.

With that being said, the entire business scheme here is trashy, and very, very triple A-ey. Id think this was EA we were dealing with.

Very valid! high hopes indeed which dropped right to trashy rock bottom design.

not that more needs added because your balancing statement was spot on but il add another asinine mechanic to your list.

    shugoki backbreaker + armor

makes a spamalot one shot possible move uninteruptable, unblockable, uncounterable, unparryable and particularly hard to dodge especially if you play anything other than an assassin. and even if you do dodge they can just do it again instantly.

Exactly. Broken combos are another huge outlier. I cant help but notice that despite community outrage, none of these issues have been addressed, or even mentioned.
